I was watching a few videos today and I can't help but get kind of a bad taste in my mouth when I see somebody censor themselves. Now, I don't mean that they hold back expletives in lieu of some more... civilized language, I'm talking about bleeping their stuff. I don't know why but I really don't like when I see somebody censor themselves in that manner. If you want to keep back the swearing and make your channel family friendly by all means do it, I think THAT is great but if you can't hold back then why not just let it go? Just a minor annoyance and I'm probably the only one bothered by this. Oh well.

Sometimes you don't want to slow your momentum by watching your words. It's sometimes much easier to speak naturally infront of the camera, and then go back and bleep out any shit afterwards.

Personally? I'm completely indifferent to it all.

I'm not a fan of censuring material as well... In the world we live in now kids are exposed to bad language a shit ton more than in the past. I mean lets be honest here... how many of us as young kids cursed when they were with their friends? I can remember cursing quite often as young as 8 or 9...

I don't see anything wrong with. If anything, I think they're being responsible to their audience. I don't see people's beef with censoring. I mean, sure you probably think it's ok to expose children to profanity but If I'm a YouTuber, I'd rather not be the one responsible to it. My kids will definitely won't learn the use of profanity from my household.

I'm all for what the uploader decides. If they decided they feel it's best if they bleep out their profane words, then it's okay. It's not okay if you do it on and off, like Angry Joe. He sometimes bleeps his profanity and sometimes he doesn't. What's the point? Either do it or don't do it.

Maybe it's just me being a negative nancy but i think kids should be more exposed to things like this. Just like under age drinking, parents and society are making these things forbidden fruit. Everyone knows kids are going to do these things but with us "filtering" what they see and do they will never learn how to be responsible with regards to cursing, drinking, etc.

before anyone posts "what does this have to do with drinking?" I was just using it as another example.

These aren't the droids we're looking for.

Ah, f**k.

Sometimes it adds a comedic effect xD That's the only time I agree with censoring. But it's totally up to the presenter, and I respect their right to censor themselves.

Oh yeah, it's their choice for sure it just bugs me because it's so counter-intuitive. Are they censoring themselves to draw in younger users? If they are, do they think their user base is too stupid to know what they were trying to say? Of course not, you're not telling kids not to swear or suggesting that they don't you're just saying that you do, but you bleep it out for other peoples' sake. There's nobody I would not watch because of it and it's just a minor annoyance for me but I think if you're going to censor yourself just don't swear. Maybe I'd like it better if the presenter who didn't want to swear came up with something creative instead... a la Ghostbusters maybe. Mother puss bucket...

Nice of you to bring up Angry Joe, that's the douche I noticed it on as he was showing clips and half the video was edited while the other half wasn't. He's a putz anyway.

Ah well, fuck it. ;)
