looks like you got things figured out :D and I like retro gaming a lot too, in some ways it's a lot better than next gen consoles but in some ways the newer stuff is better too, just depends on the game.
I definitely think retro games will be better than next gen consoles, especially if most of them end up blocking the use of used games.

360, PS3 and Wii on a 36" 1080p Sony Bravia. Everything else (Mainly PS2, Mega Drive, N64, SNES, GameCube, and Xbox) on a 13" tube TV.
Scratch that. I now play my current gen consoles on a 1080p 42" LG LED TV. It's... godly.

My HDTV is not the best - a 32-inch 720p Samsung model, but it suits my needs perfectly. I have my current gen consoles hooked up to it (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) and it works beautifully. I also have a SNES hooked up and it looks great, surprisingly, so I don't need to use a CRT like I had initially thought. I keep all of my video game equipment in my bedroom, which has become my man-cave of sorts, and I enjoy playing video games while lying in bed. The perfect wind-down to my often stressful days.
