Well the Summer blockbuster season is about to hit, has already hit for other parts of the world in some cases, and there are a lot of big movies this year. The Avengers are leading the way and are a great kick off to the season. I found a preview list at IGN and it's a pretty good idea of what Hollywood has down the pipeline. http://movies.ign.com/articles/122/1223376p1.html I'm actually pretty interested in a far few more then I was expecting. - Prometheus - Dark Shadows - G.I. Joe: Retaliation - Dark Knight Rises - Neighbourhood watch - The Bourne Legacy - The Expendables 2 - Lawless Any thoughts on movies that will be released over the Summer or movies that didn't make this IGN list that people should take note of? Managed to see Avengers already and it was everything that I expected it to be. A very fun ride and someone they managed to put it all together. There were a few rougher patches for sure, but as a whole there was a lot to like there. Stay for a mid credits reveal as well if you are big Marvel fan, as they have kept the tradition of a teaser clip near the end. If you were at all entertained by the previous movies Marvel has put out over the past few years, then you should find this entertaining as well. I'm a big Marvel fan and have been for a long time and I was very satisfied with the film. |

I will be there for Dark Knight Rises in IMAX. Could care less about the rest. Looking forward to Star Trek 2 and Man of Steel next year. |

people are already say that the avengers is the best comic book movie (to which I reply bullshit the nothing can beat the dark knight) but I have a feeling that TDKR is not not going to be as good as the dark knight I just have a feeling |

I watched The Avengers, fucking AWESOME movie! Besides that, i'm just waiting for december when The Hobbit finally comes to theaters, can't wait

It depends on how you want to argue that sort of point. I would say that The Avengers is the best Comic Book movie. There isn't any sort of extra pinnings on it being anything else (except for maybe an action movie). The Dark Knight is much less a comic book movie than it is a crime drama styled movie. There aren't many things that give it a comic book feel, from directing, to script to acting. Everything was taken extremely serious (while there are comics like that, most people think of comics as being lighter hearted and jovial). I feel it really depends on how you view the films from a certain stand point. I'm excited for Dark Knight Rises and I'm expecting a good film, but at the same time I'm not expecting it to be over-the-top, balls to the walls fun. Which The Avengers was shooting for. |
