PeteDorr has led me into the magical world of game reproductions I am very new to this subject and have some questions about the process before I start collecting them. 1. Do translators take any creative liberties withe story or character names or is a strait translations for the most part or does it just depend? 2. Do the translators add their names into the credits of the reproduction? 3. Do reproductions note themselves as such on the cartridge or in game play i.e stating someone in or no the product this is a reproduction? 4. What is the normal price range for a reproduction since I would guess by technicality they are not "rare"? I have seen so prices very from numerous amounts. I simply ask these out of my curiosity and desire to learn more about how these types of games have eluded my eye for so long. P.S I also just ordered a reproduction of Shin Megami. Has anyone played it? what can I expect from it? |

All of these things just depend on the translator and game. Some translators may add some funny lines but I would imagine most will stay true to the story or no one would want to play it. They may state somewhere on the cartridge that it's a reproduction. The game is translated by people other than the people making into a cartridge, it's an extremely low chance it'll state it somewhere in the actual game unless both the translator and the people making it into a cartridge are the same person. Reproductions will vary based on the game. The site I use is averaging about $25-30 an NES game and $60-70 for an SNES game, however most are desirable repros. |

Daftcody, yes Shin Megami is fun. It's hard, but fun (and the story is great.) (also, mind linking me to the site where you got the reproduction cart?) |
