Guys I am so excited for Pax Prime, this will be my first ever pax that I have gone to and hopefully not my last! The thing I am most excited about is not getting to play the games but meeting everyone face to face, the people I watch every day on Youtube and just friends here in the gaming community. I couldn't sleep last night just thinking about it all, and its not even august yet! So who is all going?

I have everything ready but the actual PAX ticket itself. Hotel situation is a bit iffy though. Doesn't seem like any hotels in that area are available yet for that weekend. The closest one I managed to get was 20 minutes away by car.

I have a feeling those people at PAX and the hotels are conspiring. Hotel rooms will magically become available with the tickets and they will cost a fortune. >_<

Since I live in Seattle, here are a couple things I would suggest:

1) Our public bus system is pretty good, especially going north/south. If you want to save a bit of money and stay at a cheaper hotel, taking the bus downtown can be a cheap and quick way to do it. I would recommend staying in Hotels north of downtown, because it's a bit nicer (and safer)

2) We have a brand new light rail system, which can take you from the Sea-Tac airport to downtown for $2.75. Way cheaper than a taxi! You can plan that trip here:
www.soundtransit.org

3) We have a bunch of retro gaming stores in this area, however most of them you need either a car or at the very least a bus ride. Here is a map I made: www.metaljesus.com

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Ooh thanks for the info! I will have to research this later.

My hotel situation is pretty weird. The days I will not be attending PAX, I managed to book a hotel in the Seattle area. The days I am at PAX I will be staying at a hotel in Bellevue.

I'll keep that in mind, I'll plan on a trip to PAX Prime in the next few years.

Wow, I can't believe 3 day passes sold out on the first day. I also had to buy individual tickets.

Better be worth it, IMO. =p

Good god three day passes sold out so quick and I had to buy the 1 days. Fortunetely I managed to snag them. Hotel situation is settled although pricey. $200 a night. Yikes. Now I gotta settle the plane situation. I will be going though and it is my first convention so I am excited. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

This is where I bailed last year. I had my passes, hotel, and just had to book a flight. It was soooooooooo expensive!

I saved this year, but looks like all 3 days and Saturday passes are already sold out. Guess I am waiting for PAX East again next year.

Welcome To Warp Zone!

Yeah, that's some rough stuff. I was planning to go, but I've been bed ridden for the last few days so I went to sleep before they went on sale. It's just not worth paying 2x-3x more on eBay. Maybe I'll go next year.

I feel like we would overflow the Cheesecake Factory. =p

Are there any nice mom-n-pop restaurants in the area? Or restaurants that are specific to the Seattle area?

I don't think we would because some people aren't even going this year like Johnny and Playalives

I Like Games.

I personally am not into a huge gathering at cheesecake factory this year. Was a bit crowded there last year and too hard to talk to everyone since people were seated all over the place. Johnny organized it last year, I dont think anyone is stepping up to the plate this year to do it. I imagine the gathering this year will be A LOT smaller than last, for the simple fact that tickets sold out so fast and so few people are now able to go.
