The main game for me where i was drawn in and REALLY felt as if i was living in that world was Might and Magic 8: day of the destroyer, that game felt INCREDIBLE and i remember many amazing momments were i actually felt my self scared for my character to go into a cave to fight a dragon or when i first used the levitation spell and was able to fly around the world. plus the spells in that game were great :D

Gamer. Graphic Designer. Geek.

Bioshock, Alan Wake, Dragon Age Origins, FF7, Legend of Dragoon, Mass Effect, FFXI, and WoW all pulled me into their worlds... So many more I could add to the list. I felt like I was a part of all of these games.

The first time I played Halo 3 really got.
It was the first FPS that had a story that made me think, I also really enjoyed the matchmaking.

Defiantly anything in the Mass Effect universe. The choices the player can take to completing the mission is genius. Besides, what the player does in the previous games carries over to the next. All three games had one of those moments where I had to stop and think about what I really wanted to do, never played a game like that before. I could not stop playing them until I seen the ending.

Noone has said Diablo 2? o.o For me it would have to be Counter-Strike 1.6. Been playing it for well over 1/2 my life now, and am still an active player.

Dragon Age: Origins and Assassins Creed 2 come to mind. I'm afraid of heights and there were a few moments in AC2 and the sequels where for a moment I was horrified jumping down from the tallest buildings.

The main reason The Elder Scrolls series is my all time favourite series, is because all the games offer a sense of immersion i've never experienced in other games, they're extremely good at keeping the suspension of disbelief, i'll admit the load times can sometimes hinder that experience, but for the most part it remains intact. And it's undoubtly because of the total freedom and the rich and detailed enviroments that surround it.

Final Fantasy IX is the one where I really felt that!

Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy VIII I felt that way about too. I'm sure there are a few others, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Ocarina of Time was certainly one of those games where I was totally immersed in the world, and Skyward Sword had that for me, too. Shadow of the Colossus's world was certainly immersing, as has been Xenoblade Chronicles. Probably the most immersed I've been in a game universe has been with Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, though; gorgeous environments with an unforgettable story and characters.

The original Witcher for sure. It was the first game I played in 3D, I played the game for hours and hours each time I booted it up, and it is in my opinion the best dark fantasy world ever crafted in a video game. WoW is another one because it literally was another world that took over my life for a couple of years.

I felt incredibly immersed into Fallout: New Vegas, moreso than in the predecessor. The only thing is that I got 80 hours into it, found out I was stuck in a quest I couldn't complete, with a ten pound bag that I couldn't remove from my inventory. Haven't picked it up since, and I feel guilty about it. But it's still such an incredible game and I was definitely immersed into it's world for quite a while.

Handheld Games Are Great
The game that I have been most immersed in (as far as I actually felt what the Character was feeling and I felt those feelings strongly) was actually Amnesia: the Dark Descent. That game horrified me beyond belief I still haven't been able to finish it. That game was the most Immersed I have ever been of course that was actually the point of the game.

As far as more conventional games. Resident Evil 2 was one that I was fairly immersed in. Also Final Fantasy IX, While I didn't exactly feel immersed in the world I did feel like I could Relate to the Characters. The other One I can think of at the Moment Is Dark Souls. That game had an extremely Immersive world to explore and You always Felt like you were actually accomplishing things when you would beat a boss or an area because of the difficulty of the game.
