I used to have all my consoles (Other than my PS3) hooked up to a small 7 inch LCD screen in my room, which died recently. My PC and PS3 are hooked up to a 19 inch monitor, which i feel is a bit too small for gaming from a far distance, like from my bed. I'm debating on if i should get a cheap CRT and play all on that, get a converter box and have all my games on my monitor, or if i should save up for a HDTV. The first option is the Cheapest, but it's the heaviest and takes the most space, the second is just inconvenient and i would like to play from my bed, and the 3rd is expensive. Which ones do you prefer, and i would love some help!

Depending on the system, an HDTV won't be good for your older systems. I would probably get a cheap CRT, as the games will still look great unless you have no space at all. I don't see why the weight is much of an issue either, you probably won't be moving the TV much lol

Not all LCD TV's will make your classic consoles look terrible. Some are better than others at decoding an analog signal, but it's true that most don't do a very good job. That said, my first choice would be a cheap LCD--especially if you do more current-gen gaming.

Ask around and see who's happy with their LCD TV, then find a used one on Craigslist.

Wildcard suggestion: an HD CRT. Big and heavy as hell, but you get the best of both worlds.
