People who liked Fallout but do not want to get fallout vegas due to its low ratings and reviews, and dont want to be dissapointed should really check out the game Borderlands......it is really cool, and i think it is made by the same people who made fallout......there are hundreds of guns to choose from, and you are in a desert mad max type wasteland setting..... So if you are wondering where you should go after fallout but dont want to be dissapointed with fallout vegas,,,,get the game borderlands .....i did and it rocks..... |

Not quite my friend. Fallout 1 + 2 were made by Black Isle, who were a division of Interplay. Borderlands is made by Gearbox, who don't have anything to do with either Black Isle or Interplay. Fallout New Vegas was developed by Obsidian, who are made up of some of the remnants of BI / Interplay. Obsidian are now helping Brian Fargo (creator of Wasteland and Fallout) - to make Wasteland 2. Which is due out in October 2013. Gearbox are currently working on Borderlands 2. (Which, you're 100% correct on, it's awesome) |

New Vegas is awesome. Its a far removal from the the first 2 games but i think it does the series justice. Mind you, if you dont like Bethesda games then i can really see why you wouldn't like it. I'd have loved to have seen a proper Fallout 3 back in the day usinf the Fallout Tactics engine, it had many combat improvements over FO 1&2 but unfortunatley it was just a linear mission based game. They could have fleshed it out and made something incredible. |

I don't know where you got the low ratings and reviews from as the game recieved mostly positive reviews, the biggest complaint gamers and reviewers had was technical issues where the game would often crash, however those issues have been fixed. And IMO you can't really compare Borderlands and Fallout, Borderlands focuses on loot, loot more loot and then some coop (Which I agree is an AWESOME mix) while Fallout focuses on providing an immersive singleplayer experience. |

If you don't buy games just because of "low reviews" and Metacritic scores you are SERIOUSLY restricting yourself, and you will miss out on a TON of brilliant games. I don't want to sound like a dick but if you play only what IGN tells you to play, and believe that every game they give a "bad" review is so, you are a just a drone. IGN and other big sites are in some cases PAID by publishers for good reviews, and if they give a bad one, they are heavily restricted to when they are allowed to release said review. But back to the point, New Vegas is nothing short of great. On release it was definantly buggy, for the simple reason that Bethesda forced Obsidian to release early. They were fixed, and the game is now just as stable as F3 is. The story is excellent (actually better than F3's.... but I prefer F3's setting), especially if you have played Fallout 1 and 2, since a lot of the original writers of those games now work at Obsidian. Yes, Borderlands is excellent (especially with friends), but the two games are in no way comparable. |

Both New Vegas and Borderlands are awesome games. Different in places, similar in others, but both are worthy of praise. If you like Fallout you really should try New Vegas. Sure it has technical issues but there is still a lot of enjoyment to be had with the game. |

I actually thought New Vegas was better than Fallout 3. I did like the Weapon making in Fallout 3 though, its something that really should have been in NV. |

I didn't think New Vegas was that bad. I enjoyed it, and there's way less travelling through subway stations. |

I loved New Vegas. I learned 20 years ago to save frequently so some of the really bad glitches never really affected me. If it froze or something else, I just reloaded and tried not to do whatever I did last time to break the game. It wasn't as good as Fallout 3 imo (and I never got the chance to play the others), but still a great game if you've worn out Skyrim, Fallout 3, Oblivion or any of the other Bethesda RPGs and don't have anything to play. |

It really is a fantastic game and has some really awesome missions to do, it really is a testament to how even if a game has a million problems it can still better than most other games on the market. Those damn Cazador's make my life a hell but i love them for it haha. |

I got New Vegas at launch and despite being hit with a crazy bug that would freeze my game unless I was wearing a specific hat, it was still one of the best games of 2010. I played through the game completely 5 times with various character builds and got all of the DLC. After the patches, beyond the occasional freeze, which happened in Fallout 3 way more often, it was solid. I think Obsidian really made a great continuation from Fallout 1 and 2 in New Vegas. Fallout 3 was a great game by itself but any series veteran can easily say that that game had very little connection to the earlier titles, whereas New Vegas took it back with numerous references to the old titles including some of the old characters from 2 (or their decedents in some cases) as well as lots of mentions of places and events from previous games. Not only that, the weapon customization, story elements, the addition of Hardcore mode, the additional perks, the more fleshed out locations, and much much better party mechanics made New Vegas better than Fallout 3 for me (which is saying a lot considering I put over 300 hours into Fallout 3). |

Played 800 hours of Fallout 3. Over 1,200 in New Vegas. It's obvious which I prefer. |

New Vegas would have been so much if the voice acting was not so cheesy and the quest were not as fun as 3.beside that the crafting system in NV was awesome and the game combat is better. but i found New vegas cheep and cheesy(story and voice acting). |
