I am considering trying to go for a complete collection of every Sega Dreamcast game released in North America. It seems like a perfect system to go for a complete collection on because it is disk based so I don't have to worry very much about condition and things like that, the library is between 200 and 300 games which is very achievable, the system does not have very many crappy games, from what I hear the Dreamcast does not have very many rarities, not to mention the Dreamcast has tons of amazing games. Those are my thoughts but if you guys have anything to add or any experience collecting for Dreamcast please reply. Thanks!

Buy a few games if you don't already have and try them and if you like them go for it? Just a warning that from my experience the people I know that have gone for complete collections just to have a complete collection have often regretted it.

If you have the means then why not. The Dreamcast was a great system.

I don't know if I ever would go for a complete collection. I have always been a quality of quantity person, so I will have a moderate to low amount of games(relative to other collectors) on each system I own, but I try to get the gems/rpgs.

Though, I have had an urge to collect all the game for certain series and even play them, even though some games may be garbage compared to the other in the series.

well i like every dreamcast game in some way or form. Yes Even the Sega Sports games. IMO the NFL 2k series is better than Madden.

I'm doing it myself. At about 188-ish US releases, with another 8 to 10 imports and homebrews on top of that. There definitely aren't that many super rare titles (Sonic Adventure LE is one of the only ones I can think of), and while there are several games in the $30 - $50ish range, they don't sting so bad because they are really good games (Mars Matrix, Giga Wing 2, Cannon Spike, etc.). It's safe to say that even if you are relying solely on places like eBay and the internet (I rarely find DC games in the wild), a good chunk of the library is $10 or less. You can find some great deals and lots of you keep your eye out on the forums as well.

A lot of people would agree with you about the 2K games. The EA monopoly is a shame, though they do a pretty good job with Fifa. I buy Madden every 3 years due to it basically being the same game.

A complete DC(NTSC) collection is very doable. I don't even think there are that many expensive games and I wish you luck man!
