For our last Special epsiode, we were honestly struggling for ideas. We covered the good, the bad and the utterly hilarious in the three previous ones, and we were at a loss for this one. Not that this stopped us, so we decided to stretch our collective podcasting abilities and pull this one out of our arses. We're talking about the internet, without which you wouldn't be reading this now. We discuss life before the internet, what great things its brought us and some of the possible drawbacks...like being threadbombed with Goatse pictures.

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtaKXayOLlU&feature=g-u-u

The MP3 and iTunes links are in the video description.

A big thank you to everyone who has listened, commented on and discussed our previous Specials. We were initially apprehensive about how they would be received, given the rather serious topics covered, but you call came through in fine form and we couldn't be happier. Next week, the Rascals return ;)

Haha, I hadn't even listened to the episode at all at the time so that was totally unintentional, but I have to say that I really enjoyed the episode! It definitely struck a chord with me since it was really interesting to see how the Internet has impacted your lives, because I know it certainly has impacted mine! Not only has the internet allowed me to meet such amazing people with common interests as me (since they are incredibly hard to come by IRL often times), but it has allowed me to discover these great podcasts and even battle with depression at some times. I would be a completely different person if it weren't for the internet, so it's really strange to think of what my life would be like if I never had a computer.

I'm with Ben on the whole grammar thing, for sure. I'm surprised as a teenager in this century that I haven't been corrupted by the lack of grammar out there on the internet, which has played such an integral part of my life! Like Ben, I really like to take my time and make the thing that I say on the internet has well-written or at least legible as possible, though I'm not sure how that is portrayed on the other side of the computer screen. Obviously I'm not writing an essay, so I'm not constantly looking for the perfect word choices, but I at least make an effort to make it passable. I really fear for the people that don't use any punctuation whatsoever for the stupid reason that it is "just the internet," though of course I have learned to cope with it. One of the downfalls to Twitter is the simple novelty of the 140 character limit and the fact that when I try to articulate some of my thoughts, I am forced to commit heinous grammar/punctuation crimes. It irks me so much!

Additionally, I really got a laugh out of all of the puns you sprayed throughout the episode! You should definitely have an episode where every line you say is a pun! :P

Awesome episode, guys!

Great episode guys!

Anyways, ive studied a lot of psychology, and regarding Andy's trouble with real life "unnatural social interactions," and more specifically, trouble with eye contact, it seems to me like that is an indication of Aspergers Syndrome, a high functioning form of autism regarding the part of the brain that deals with social interactions and understanding social cues, or gestures. I could be way wrong, of course, but many people go through life without even realizing. Furthermore, people with AS tend to have few very strong and predominant interests, or hobbies.  Or it could just be from the Internet lol.

Great episode guys! I found the whole story about Ben seeing the whole Meatspin thing for the first time hilarious and he was quite lucky with how the boss reacted because some bosses would have gone apeshit probably over that. I haven't seen any of that weird shit like Meatspin, 2 girls 1 cup etc and I don't plan to any time soon since it would gross me out! Shit Lasagne story certified that!

I am actually quite similar to Andy with the fact is I tend not to give eye contact sometimes as well especially when I go to my local shop and just buy a few things. I tend to look down and not straight at the face of the employee so you are not alone my friend in that department.

I loved the whole internet talk and how you discovered it and the whole shock stuff. I was listening at work and I did a big "Yeah!" when rotten.com came up because I remember that site myself back in the day where you came across all sorts of fucked-up shit on there but it is pretty much so easy to come across that stuff nowadays. I entered the Internet age at around February-March 2000 and remember first visting sites like WWE and fansites etc back in the day and it is a wonder how far we've come in the past 10-15 years.

Looking forward to the return this weekend!

I accidentally stumbled on all 4 of these specials a month ago and without realizing they were going to be spread out over the month. I even almost let the cat out of the bag but people were to busy arguing about my little pony to notice and i quickly deleted the post.

I listened to them all back to back and its been quite an annoyance having to wait a month but im glad its all back on track again

I could not agree more on the whole grammar on the internet. I know that mine is not the best but at least people can make out what i am saying. But come on people just because you know what the fuck you are typing doesn't mean everyone else can understand you make up language.

I could not stop laughing when Ben was talking about the Meatspin story of when his boss walking in on him watching it.

Can't wait for the next episode. Hoping for the four hour club.
