Hey guys. I'm probably starting a podcast soon and could use advice from any of you established podcasters out there. This podcast won't be related to gaming in any way and probably won't be of interest to any of you, but any advice you guys want to share would be appreciated. I'm mainly looking for technical tips, such as... Chat system to use: Seems like everyone uses Skype Best program to record Skype chats with: Is it Audacity or have you found something better/more reliable? Is it hard to get iTunes to list your feed? What do you do with a podcast once you have it recorded? Upload it to?? Then submit the feed to ?? and ?? I can find answers to most of these questions by googling, but any information you could give me from experience would help a lot. Thanks, Jason. |

I couldn't get Audicity to work right so I downloaded a program called Pretty Mae Skype Recorder. It's simple to use, reliable and the audio sounds great. I think it cost me around $20-25. |

Depends if you are on Mac or on PC. There are a ton of great tutorials on Youtube for both recording Skype. Setting up a podcast can be frustrating. Upload episodes to archive.org, its free storage more a less for your mp3. I use Wordpress with a podcast widget to post my episodes, feed that sites RSS to Feedburner. Feedburner more a less just formats your information to display correctly on iTunes (cover image, description, ect..) Then takes the Feedburner RSS and plug it into iTunes. It takes a few days to process. There are MANY ways of doing it. Google is your friend. Edited by jumblejunkie, Sep 7 2012, 01:26 PM.

Thanks guys. I did a few google searches and found a few different ways to go about doing this, but I wanted to make sure the programs and websites I was using were top tier so I figured I'd ask you and see what you use. You've definitely helped out quite a bit. Jason. Edited by Jason Keiderling, Sep 8 2012, 01:34 PM.
