After a month-long hiatus, the Rad Rascals return to record a marathon, 4-hour extravaganza in which we answer your questions. We asked, and mildly put, you delivered. We answer all kinds of questions, from the standard "what's you're favourite game"-type questions to the truly bizarre. Predictably, some of the questions were downright messed up. Regardless, you asked and we answered, and had an amazing time doing it. Due to the length of this episode, we have decided to split it up into a two-parter. Part One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn8tkAmI4_U&feature=plcp Part Two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbiuaEJ1ynM&feature=plcp The usual links for iTunes and the MP3 download are included in the video description boxes. Next week, it's back to business as usual. We hope to have a guest and lots to talk about in terms of what games we have been enjoying. Thanks for sticking with us and continuing to support our podcast. It means a lot

I've listened to 40 minutes of this so far and am really enjoying the questions and dialogue. Just wanted to bring up animal collective, I know some people are critical about the album (pitchfork gave it a 7.4, people are being sort of negative), but I've got to say I'm really enjoying the album a lot. It might not necessarily pull off anything new in contrast to animal collective's sequential development between albums. But there are a lot of good, catchy, hypnotic tracks on hz. |

I just realized since i started listen to Rad Rascals i have bought Deadly Premonition, God Hand, Nier, and Streets of Rage 2. So it turns out that if y'all mention a game enough times I buy it.

Totally agree, but I feel that a lot of the criticism is due to the fact that they had to follow up on the very highly raised bar that was set with MPP and Fall Be Kind. It seems like Pitchfork and AnCo just had a divorce haha, but in all seriousness, I thought their review was fair. I never usually take reviews that seriously (especially Pitchfork)because I like to form my own opinion on music. Anyways, I'm enjoying it a lot too after it sunk in on me, like every other AnCo record. However, it has a few songs that underwhelm in my opinion, which usually isn't the case with one of their albums for me. Also, the extreme density with all the random sound placement just doesn't feel as focused as other albums by them. I can see why the production is throwing some listeners off, but I'd still give it a 8 out of 10 any day. |

I'd say that is around what I'd rate it, or simply state that it's "great", or "a very pleasant listen". I knew this was a good album and a good set of tracks when I found the little nuances of the music starting to play in my head when I'm not listening to music. And it's not obnoxious catchy hooks. I didn't necessarily feel the 'disjointment' some reviewers have mentioned, I thought some of those sample placements were arbitrary, but at the same time artistic touches, and were reminiscent to what Animal Collective has been doing. That being said, I do think the album could have segued into one another a little better so some songs wouldn't feel anti-climatic. For instance, I thought Strawberry Jam and MPP had good initial tracks that built momentum to what proceeded where Hz kind of instantly started with a fast-tempo, disorienting track. |

Love this music discussion, and it now serves as a reminder that I need to buy the new Animal Collective album. I've always enjoyd their music and I've heard mostly positive things from fellow fans about it. |

Listened to the rest of the episode at work the past few nights and once again, your discussions and banter never fail to entertain me. Aqua were Danish and not Swedish Ben but I feel the same way as I quite like their songs despite them being cheesy as hell. I quite like Turn Back Time and Cartoon Heroes. Glad you guys mentioned Adele because while she is a great singer, her songs are played to fucking death and it just annoys the hell out of me. One I would mention for Lachlan's question is Florence & the Machine! I honestly don't get the love for her because to me she sounds like a banshee when she sings thus I refer to her as Florence & the banshee! Much better female vocalists in the UK than her yet she gets all the praise. i went to Prague for my holidays a few years ago with my father and it is a beautiful city with great historical architecture but man it was damn hot when we went over and I am not a fan of the heat whatsoever. You should go sometime and check it out and take me with you!

Both?! (about the Oprah / Danny Glover question...) Mind. Blown. ... No haha.. I am catching up on my listening and this made me laugh. I felt like I needed to redeem myself with way heavy-handed, philosophical questions after such a juvenile one. I think you guys felt more strongly about poop than the afterlife or the Singularity though. How tragic! Nah just messing... |
