I've waited over a decade, but now I finally have a 32x!

I don't know anything about the games for it, except that I've always wanted one, as it'll look bitching sweet on my Sega Mega Drive II with Mega CD II. :D

So, what do I get for it? I got Doom already :D

Glob. You can't handle these lumps.

Anyways check out Virtua Fighter, Knuckles Chaotix, Space Harrier, Virtua Racing, Tempo, Star Wars Arcade, and After Burner. I have some 32x vids up on my channel about this stuff.

Sega Does What Nintendon't

Kolibri - My personal favorite 32x game. SHMUP

I have always thought that Mortal Kombat II on the 32X was the best port of the game cause it looks as good as the 32bit CD console ports but has 0 loading time since its still on a cart.

Blackthorne - Best console port of the game with extra levels just for the 32x.

The 32X is a cool little system. Not a ton of great games for it, but there's plenty enough to make it worth the purchase.

Games I like that I think are pretty good: Tempo, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing, NBA Jam T.E., Mortal Kombat II, After Burner, Space Harrier, DOOM, Knuckles Chaotix.

There are a bunch of other games that may be worth trying depending on your tastes though. Cosmic Carnage gets a bad wrap, but it has some cool scaling effects and some people are partial to it. Pitfall has a really wonky framerate, but looks very colorful in comparison to the Genesis version (I personally prefer the Sega CD version, for the better audio and sans the nausea-inducing framerate). Primal Rage is a shoddy 16-bit conversion and barely enhanced over the Genesis port, but some people for some odd reason like it (there are better versions to be had, like the Saturn one). Metal Head was kind of crappy in my opinion, but it seems to play OK and a lot of people seem to be partial to it as well. Spider Man: Web of Fire is one of the rarer games, and it's actually OK. Not bad, but just not great (Blue Sky put out better looking games on the Genesis itself, like Vectorman). Still, you might enjoy it. I have tried Kolibri on multiple occasions, but for the most part I feel it is overrated. It is a unique game though and has some very smooth visuals. T-MEK--I found it to be a pretty cool game. But it was hard to figure out what was going on at first, and it felt somewhat unpolished. Still, I enjoyed it. A lot of people didn't though.

Some of the games can get relatively pricey, but fortunately most of the ones worth playing are cheap enough. For the more expensive titles still worth trying (like Spiderman), I'd recommend nabbing a Genesis flash cart, like an Everdrive. You can load 32X ROMs onto it, and as long as you have the 32X, can play them fine.

Also, some clarification regarding Mortal Kombat II: While I think it's a good port, I don't think it's aged the best for a few reasons. It still uses the same music as the Genesis game, and the majority of the backgrounds were re-used from the Genesis one with minor upgrades. It's far from the near arcade-perfect visuals some make it out to be. The characters though do look more colorful and animate better than the Genesis version, and the character select screen looks much better than before. It also has the intro sequence and the proper endings for the characters, unlike most of the other ports of the time. However, the framerate stutters a bit here and there just like in the Genesis version, and overall it feels like a somewhat lazy conversion. Again, it's still a good conversion, just don't be expecting that flawless arcade conversion like some say it is. At least it plays better than the 32-bit ports!

Many congrats dude! :D I'm still wanting one...I'm either going to go for an American 32X though or a Super 32X from Japan, means I'll be able to play my 32X games at 60hz. but yeah dude I definitely recommend Knuckles Chaotix (for obvious reasons), Kolibri (like Ecco the Dolphin but with a hummingbird and more action IMO than Ecco) and Tempo (an absolutely beautiful platformer..one of my favourites on the system) Congrats again :P
