I guess I have two complete months in order to hold up my end of the deal.
YOU CAN DO IT.

Also, that average time is not accurate. At all. EVER.

Moar like 150-200 amirite.
Meh.

Nice, I didn't start going for it until NG++.

Also DLC beaten. 4 bosses, new enemies, new areas, new items, definitely worth it for the lore alone.

Got the DLC but I decided I'd start a new character for it. About 8 hours in and I'm just before the point where you have to fight Smough and Ornstein. Probably get into the DLC part today after I finish work.

Started as a Sorcerer this time as I'm interested in the new magic in the DLC so I'm just running through the game in Crimson Robes wielding an enchanted great scythe and a truckload of spells.

The game is definitely a lot faster if you don't wander around and search in every little nook and cranny. My first playthrough was like 100 hours and a lot of that was just due to me having the OCD need to go to every possible place I could go to and get every item I could find. On my subsequent playthrough, since I knew where the stuff I wanted/needed was already I just blew through in about 20 hours and even then only because I went back to fight all of the optional bosses (Capra Demon, Demon Firesage, Stray Demon, Centipede Demon, Crossbreed Priscilla, Dark Sun Gwyndolin, and the Gaping Dragon).

Maybe I'm the only person still playing in the thread but I'm still on some Dark Souls.

I recently bought the Japan only PS3 "Artorias of the Abyss" edition which contains an updated strategy guide, a soundtrack, and a map (quick and dirty unboxing on my channel if anyone is interested in seeing that stuff).

What this means is that despite having beaten the game up to NG+++++ on my Xbox plus multiple other alternate builds and DLC, I've restarted on the PS3, which to me justifies my double dipping a bit. I've also started getting way more into the covenants so I'm going to be doing some darkwraith and Darkmoon invasions with my two new characters.

Have to beat the hydra in Darkroot Basin and get to Duke's Archives before you an access the DLC area! There are videos on YouTube on how to get to it! I had to resort to that since I wouldn't have known otherwise!

Dude Dark Souls is the worst game to play drunk, you will end up getting pissed off and throwing the controller at one of your cats.

I've decided my channel playthrough will be from NG+ on the character I already cleared it with on the PS3 so for my personal time I made a new character that is faith based. It's definitely not my normal play style but it's fun. I was invading people yesterday as a Darkmoon Blade using a +5 Lightning Barbed Whip. Good times.

Andsy, man, you have to play the DLC! The four new bosses are a lot of fun, it's cool to see the past version of the Darkroot Basin and Woods, and the Oolacile Township parts are really nice. It's not incredibly long or anything but the added lore and characters you meet are all great plus, if you are a magic user you get tons of super powerful magic.

Ahh I've been fighting the urge to go back and do another play through. I really want to attempt a Soul level 1 play through but I have a huge backlog that I feel guilty about neglecting.

I'm the same way. I have an ever expanding back log to get to but I can't seem to stop playing Dark Souls. I guess I've taken a step forward by taking the disk out of my 360 and only having the PS3 version in use. My console gaming has been decidedly Dark Souls-centric as of late.

I recently started a base level/base equipment playthrough as a Deprived. I'm at Ornstein and Smough right now but it's hard to beat those dudes with no armor and a club

I picked it up for $14. I'll pop it in when I hate myself sometime, and I guess I should practice grabbing my ankles like I had to with Demons Souls.

I'm at the same point but with a pyromancer and I am allowing myself to upgrade equipment. To bad the only weapons he can wield are the axe and the club. Anyways Pikachu and Snorlax have stonewalled me right now, I have spent at least an hour and a half trying to beat them so far.

I got them to the point where I took down Smough but Ornstien knocked me down as the cutscene started. Unavoidable hit as soon as I stood up.

At least this is the only real rough patch I anticipate. Unless I attempt to take out Kalameet. But I'm still not sure if I'm going to do the DLC in this run.

One question though. Are you letting yourself use summons? I am not using them and O&S is a boss I have never beaten without my buddy Solaire.

EDIT* O&S has been beaten. Praise the Sun

My girlfriend bought me this game the other night because she works at GameStop and I ended up picking up Far Cry 3 instead of Dark Souls. This game is fun. I loved Demon's Souls. Haven't really got far to say that it's too hard yet. I know the time will come.

Welcome to the club! Second best game this generation only behind Demon's Souls.

My bro is currently playing that game. I tried it and man, it's a hard game. I like a good grind but this is too much for me. I'm afraid I won't be playing it, but my bro is highly enjoying it.
