In the spirit of the season, we talk about some of the things that scare us most - scary movies, games, phobias and Ben's frightening inability to pronounce certain British curse words. Also included is the typical discussion on games, movies and TV shows, as well as some brilliant ideas on a crossover between a supernatural Godzilla and a creature made of...well, certain naughty bits. Level 7 Posts: 1,067 Group: Members Member #4,731 Joined: Feb 2, 2012	Lol, good episode so far Not my full answer but I was about to go to sleep, listening to the podcast, I have the same fear as Ben about the dark and as I was about to fall asleep I hear him talk about the sleeping serial killer... No more sleep for me ANSWER: I am a complete wimp when it comes to scary movies, i cant watchi them, heck i cant even watch the trailers. Any scary video games would have already been said, resident evil ect. Phobias: Where to start. I have the same phobia as Ben when im afraid of the dark, i have never been scared of monsters or anything fiction but im freaked sometimes by noices think a rober is coming or a serial killer. When ben mentioned the serial killer in the night that tortures with the victums i could sleep for a half an hour till i relized i move out of california half a year ago. Also like ben i cant stand bees or wasps or hornets or anything like that. They completly freak me out and i will run across the street to the other side to get away from it. Im also afraid of heights, i height being up high, i completly freaks me out, even ladders i cant stand. This one i go over a year ago but i was afraid of escaladers, the term is esclaphobia. I couldnt stand to be on escaladers, they completly freaked me out. Another, i dont know if this is a phobia but it goes back to antisocial and shyness but i hate talking to people, unless i befriend them or the have just a certin appeal (that makes no sence does it) i am increadibly shy/fritended of talking to people, ill look away, mumble some works and try to go anywhere eles. Lastly my biggest fear is the frear of terrible games, evertime i see the cover or gameplay of games like godhand or nier i just cring, start shaking and i have to tell myself its only a game. lol i all fairness all of those except the last one were true Edited by zaven1718, Nov 3 2012, 12:01 AM.

QOTW Response: I am not really a big fan of horror/scary movies & games etc but I do like certain films like Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness, which are more comedy horror than your run-of-the-mill horror film where the people are thick as hell! Also like the first 3 Child's Play films before it became a laughable joke with Bride & Seed of Chucky! Chucky masturbating in the latter film is the real low point in that series! I don't have any of your standard phobias/fears like spiders, heights etc except for one and that is needles or more specfically needle injections! I always get queasy whenever I had to get a blood test or an injection in high school and whenever there is a show or a film on that has people injecting themselves with drugs or medication etc, always have to look away. I have 2 things that scare me that you might find very strange! The first one is the painting in an old black & white film called The Picture of Dorian Gray! When it is all old and haggard, it spooks me out! The second is the Death Mask of Mary, Queen of Scots! Remember seeing it in a book years ago and just frightens me! Level 1 Posts: 39 Group: Members Member #3,863 Joined: May 16, 2011	really enjoyed the episode guys, the child catcher is citty citty bang bang used to scare the shit out of me when i was a kid, and still does now a bit lol. not many films scare me really but some when i was younger that did were nightmare on elm street series, fright night did a bit and hell raiser. also a film called dolls scared the shit out of me, as for games i think only one has ever made me jumpy that i have played and thats dead space, that game was fucking brilliant and i cant wait for number 3

I SUCK AT GAMES Posts: 3,048 Group: Members Member #1,200 Joined: Aug 29, 2009 Currently Playing Horizon: Zero Dawn	I think The Strangers is a great horror movie that is more of a home invasion scenario that relies heavily on tension and noises to scare you. Also really enjoy The Descent which will probably freak out people who are claustrophobic. Rusty Trombone. They're a bit cheesy by today's standards but I really enjoy the Universal monster movies along with the comedy versions where Abbot and Costello meet monsters like Frankenstein. Condemned Criminal Origins scared the shit out of me, especially the Subway, and Department Store levels. Siren Blood Curse on PS3 was pretty scary and reminds me a lot of those Japanese horror movies like Ju-On. Silent Hill 2 is great, and I was around 6 years old when Resident Evil 1 came out and that game scared the hell out of me. Blumpkins. I personally didn't find Dead Space to be scary aside from the beginning sequence where the necromorph chases you into the elevator, anything chasing me is fuckin freaky lol. Phobia; Fuckin porcelain dolls. My sister had at least 20 of them when we were growing up, and after seeing Child's Play when I was five I thought they were alive and they were so freaky looking at night. This character does not exist Posts: 1,376 Group: Members Member #3,469 Joined: Feb 22, 2011	I'm not really scared by video games or any media from what I've seen, I'm sure there are worse movies or games out there from what I've played/seen, but what does give me a shock is when your up in the middle of the night and your playing a NES game, trying to beat it, playing the level over and over until it all becomes a blur and BOOM the game glitches up, the sound turns into a screech and everything becomes garbled. That gives me a shock more than anything. Thats probably sad, isn't it and then my phobia is the same one with browland. fucking wasps. If one comes within 10 feet of me, I'll just sprint in the other direction waving my hands in the air like a moron. I hate it why I can't be near these, since they like to make nests everywhere around here. If I lived in texas or something, I'd be terrified because of those killer bees.... ugh one time I was helping my aunt move, and I was taking apart the trampoline, and some of them have that blue tarp thing over the springs so you don't de-nut yourself. I was taking that off and I untied one part and lifted it up and dropped it. Apparently there was a big old wasp nest inside the thing, and the next second I realize there are like 10 wasps chasing me half way across the house. I luckly didn't get stung, and my dad said that was the fastest he'd ever seen me run in his life. they scare the hell out of me.

The Users Posts: 1,470 Group: Members Member #2,919 Joined: Oct 26, 2010	First off I hate Honey Boo Boo as much as Andy hates Y U No Man I'm not a big scary game player or movie watcher, I've seen The Hills Have Eyes, the 2006 version (which was very creepy) and Leprechaun in the Hood (which was stupid as fuck) but outside of those I'm not a big horror guy. As far as stuff I watch Halloween related I love the Simpsons Tree House of Horror specials. One of my favorites is The Devil and Homer Simpson, Ned Flanders, the Holiest man in Springfield, is the Devil, enough said. As far as my fears, I have a fear of heights, hate being in high places. I hate snakes as well. I used to have the dumbest fear as a kid Game Over the Bully from Nick Arcade (One of my favorite gameshows of all time) Used to freak me out as a kid. I don't know why, but he did. Question of the Week: Some of my favorite horror movies are the original Dawn of the Dead and Day of the dead. The remake of Dawn of the Dead is one of the few remakes that might be better than the original. I also love the 28 (days, weeks) later movies in the fact if you get infected from the rage virus you will transform also instantly. As for the games I do not play much of the horror genre but the ones that i enjoy the most is the first two Resident evil games, for me every game past that does not have the magic to it. The one TV show that scares the fuck out of me is Toddlers and Tiaras because you know some old pervert is just fapping over it the whole time and the parents encourage their kids to do this. Some of the phobias that i have is that I fucking hate clowns, I can deal with them on movies or T.V. but i can not deal with them in real life. Also I'm claustrophobic, I am fine with most places if they have windows but places like my own closet i can not go into with freaking out. Hey Ben, Borderlands 2 DO IT!!! The Dead Space series, the Original Condemned, Amnesia, and Limbo (I'm not sure I'd even classify this as a horror game) are the only games I can think of that I've fully played through. Really, I don't get much pleasure from games that try to make me wet my pants. I've got enough stress from my regular life!
