STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I SIMPLY POSTED THIS SO THAT I WOULDN'T ACCIDENTALLY LOSE EVERYTHING WHEN EDITING.
The Official Radical Rascals Archives
I decided that I would try to organize some of my favorite podcasts' episodes to make all of their episode more easily accessible, so here you can find links to all of the Radical Rascals episodes in one place. Don't discuss the episodes themselves here, but if you're looking for quick access to some older episodes and their descriptions as given by Ben, then this is the place to go.

Our apologies in advance for some sound quality issues, as we're having heatwaves in both Canada and the UK and needed fans. We were sweating our balls off, quite literally. This unfortunately meant that some of our responses to last week's Question of the Week were inaudible and had to be cut. We'll do our best to prevent this in the future. -
On this awesome episode, our last before taking the month of August off, we are joined by fellow Youtuber and podcaster Jordan, aka. MeetingFlipper. Among the many off-kilter things we discuss, games and movies are the order of the day, along with an in-depth discussion about the Youtube gaming community. We also revisit the topic of media violence and educate our listeners on a new fetish that is sweeping the brony nation. This is one for the books, good people. YOUTUBE - MP3 - GUEST - DISCUSS IT HERE!Special Episode 1: Don't Be A C*ck! - browland1
-
On the first of our short and sweet "hiatus special" episodes, Ben and Andy delve into stories about their formative years. Find out about their experiences as kids, from Andy's nefarious friends to what started Ben's lifelong love of boobies. As you can imagine, we got into plenty of shenanigans. If you were wondering how the Rad Rascals came into being, we take you right back to our roots!
Disclaimer: These stories are for educational purposes only, and should not be recreated or enjoyed by anyone, ever. The stuff we did was embarrassing and certainly not big, nor clever. Be smart guys, and remember: Don't be a cock. YOUTUBE - MP3 - DISCUSS IT HERE!Special Episode 2: Srs Bsns - browland1
-
In our second Special episode, the Rascals take a more personal stance and talk about serious matters. We delve into our own personal struggles in life, including depression and family difficulties, to what we have done to overcome them over the years. While some of our trademark humour remains, we even surprised ourselves with how serious the discussion got. It's not your typical Rad Rascals episode, but we hope you get something out of listening to it. Let us know what you think of these "specials". It's something we wanted to do in order to bridge the gap during our August hiatus, so we hope you like them. As always, any feedback, constructive criticism or stories you'd like to share are most welcome YOUTUBE - MP3 - DISCUSS IT HERE!Special Episode 3: Favourite Film FapFest - browland1
-
For the third Special episode, Andy and Ben decide to return to lighter territory with a topic that is near and dear to us: movies. We each pick our "Top 5" all-time favourite movies and discuss them in-depth, with the usual side helping of tangents thrown in for good measure. We hope you like our selections, and please let us know if you decide to watch any of them, and what you thoughts are. Also, we welcome everyone to share some of their favourite movies as well. Maybe we'll all discover some new gems YOUTUBE - MP3 - DISCUSS IT HERE!Special Episode 4: Goatse Gala - browland1
-
For our last Special epsiode, we were honestly struggling for ideas. We covered the good, the bad and the utterly hilarious in the three previous ones, and we were at a loss for this one. Not that this stopped us, so we decided to stretch our collective podcasting abilities and pull this one out of our arses. We're talking about the internet, without which you wouldn't be reading this now. We discuss life before the internet, what great things its brought us and some of the possible drawbacks...like being threadbombed with Goatse pictures. A big thank you to everyone who has listened, commented on and discussed our previous Specials. We were initially apprehensive about how they would be received, given the rather serious topics covered, but you call came through in fine form and we couldn't be happier. Next week, the Rascals return YOUTUBE - MP3 - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 23: The Q&A (Queefs & A-holes) Special! - browland1
-
After a month-long hiatus, the Rad Rascals return to record a marathon, 4-hour extravaganza in which we answer your questions. We asked, and mildly put, you delivered. We answer all kinds of questions, from the standard "what's you're favourite game"-type questions to the truly bizarre. Predictably, some of the questions were downright messed up. Regardless, you asked and we answered, and had an amazing time doing it. YOUTUBE P1 - YOUTUBE P2 - MP3 P1 - MP3 P2 - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 24: Those Rambunctious Rascals! - browland1
-
For this week's episode, Ben and Andy are flying solo as they discuss the past, present and future of handheld gaming. Our histories with it, how it's evolved and where it's going. Since the podcast has been on hiatus for over a month, you can also expect lots of discussion about games being played, TV shows being enjoyed and more of the same tomfoolery that you've come to expect. The rascals are back, baby! YOUTUBE - MP3 - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 25: A Wild Gamester Appears... feat. Gamester81 - browland1
-
This week, we are joined by popular Youtuber, video game enthusiast and All Gen Gamers co-host John "Gamester81" Lester. In this awesome episode, we discuss the Youtube community and podcasting, the ups and downs of collecting, the video games that we have been enjoying and some great TV show recommendations. As a side note, this episode was surprisingly light on penis jokes. Ben and Andy are both seeking medical attention as a precaution. YOUTUBE - MP3 - GUEST - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 26: Lusting for TVandGames feat. tvandlust - browland1
-
On this episode, we get a little frisky as Craig, aka "tvandlust", drops by to spend a few hours chatting bollocks with us. Topics covered include Craig's various endeavours, what the future console generations might hold, the potential for another video game crash, Ben's not-so-hidden Borderlands 2 fanboyism and Andy reclaiming his manhood by beating a certain game. The usual gaming and TV show discussions round off this fine episode. YOUTUBE - MP3 - GUEST - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 27: Zero F*cks Were Given feat. vintagevideogamegeek - browland1
-
We are joined this week by the VintageVideoGameGeek, fellow Youtuber and co-host of the popular Hit Reset Radio podcast. On this episode, we commit what might very well be podcast suicide by discussing the games we feel are weird and overrated. Needless to say, some popular titles get thrown under the bus. Other highlights include more pee stories from Ben, Andy addressing the controversy we stirred up over Sony and the triumphant return of the cat segment. YOUTUBE - MP3 - GUEST - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 28: Hey Guys, Rascals Here (Copyright Infringement Special) feat. MagusX1 - browland1
-
This week, the rascals welcome veteran Youtuber, podcaster and sporter of the finest moustache in the gaming community, Anthony aka. MagusX1. We delve into Magus' various endeavours over the years, answer your lengthy responses from last week's question and have a lively chat about video game piracy and emulation. As expected, we continue to derail legitimate topics with penis jokes. In other words, it's business as usual in the Rad Rascals camp. YOUTUBE - MP3 - GUEST - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 29: Cat Sh*t Podcast - browland1
-
We suggest you clear your schedule for this one. Due to some changes to the recording schedule, Ben and Andy decide to fly solo and embark on what they thought would be a short episode. True to their rapscallious form, this was not to be. Instead, what you'll get is a marathon episode in which many discussions and tangents were had, and amusing stories involving video games and poop were told. Topics covered include the console wars, the annoyance of fanboys and haters and, naturally, the cat segment. YOUTUBE - MP3 - DISCUSS IT HERE!Episode 30: Godzilla Ghost vs. Twatman feat. JurassicJunkie - browland1
-
This week, the incomparable Tom, aka. JurassicJunkie, joins the rascals for some pre-Halloween shindiggery. In the spirit of the season, we talk about some of the things that scare us most - scary movies, games, phobias and Ben's frightening inability to pronounce certain British curse words. Also included is the typical discussion on games, movies and TV shows, as well as some brilliant ideas on a crossover between a supernatural Godzilla and a creature made of...well, certain naughty bits. Not a dull moment was had on this fantastic episode, and we know you'll enjoy it. Happy Halloween, everyone! QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK RESPONSES (FORUMS ONLY) EPISODE 2 QOTW RESPONSES RESPONSE #1: KHARNIVORE2099 - Kharnivore2099
-
I think it may have to be postal 3, though i cant really decide until i've seen how it plays.
If its anything like postal 2 in terms of the violence then i think we have a winner. If i can urinate in someones face, cause them to vomit, knock their head off with a shovel (whilst still vomiting), set their corpse on fire and then ride off on one of those stand up mobility scooters...i dont think i will need any other game this year!
RESPONSE #2: BKMCGLYNN - BKMcGlynn
-
I'd have to say "The Last Guardian"
Even though it's rather unclear why it's all taking so long (there are a few hints here and there, but nothing really conclusive) I'm hoping we'll FINALLY be getting it this year.
Why? Both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were gaming expierences unlike anything I've ever played before and I'm really craving for a taste of something similar. Plus I think it's gonna look absolutely gorgeous...I'm expecting it to be the best looking game from this generation of gaming.
RESPONSE #3: POKEMONZRPG - pokemonzrpg
-
It would probably have to be Paper Mario 3D or Animal Crossing 3D. The only difference is that I actually have Paper Mario 3D pre-ordered already, but I am not sure how long I will have to wait befor getting Animal Crossing. Even so, I might actually have to go with Animal Crossing 3D because it is timeless and I could see myself playing it all year with the no innovations.
EPISODE 3 QOTW RESPONSES RESPONSE #1: I'M F*CKING MIDIPOUR, BITCH! - MidiPour
-
I would say it used to when I could relate to certain reviewers, such as the editors of EGM. But now, I feel like objectivity has been taken to a new high, were critics wont give a positive score to a game they will praise for being innovative, endearing or enjoyable. Rather, when it comes to high budgeted game, you know what to expect since the game has honed to be nearly flawless, or does more of what worked in the past. I think this can be a good and bad thing, it distinguishes professional reviewers, but then it also hide the gems that become commercial flop. I recall Gamespot Hotspot Praising NeverDead despite the game being flaw and tedious, where they couldn't really fault a game like FFXIII-2, despite the fact that they thought the narrative (the bulk of a jrpg experience) wasn't very good. Then again, does that justify IGN to give NeverDead a 3? It is the editor's opinion after all. I can't really say. So I guess it depends on the editor, and whether I can associate with their tastes. So, I would say yes, to an extent, if a game appears innovative, and if I value the reviewers opinion, then I'll try the game out, despite it being considered lackluster on Metacritic.
RESPONSE #2: BKMCGLYNN - BKMcGlynn
-
Mostly yes....but also a definite "no" in some cases.
LOL confusing much?
When I say "yes" I mean that I read a lot of reviews from a lot of different sources and I take bits and pieces from these reviews that speak to me. When I read about certain negative or positive aspects of a certain game and I notice that alot of the reviewers mention the same thing then it definitely influences me (buying the game). RPG's are my main interest, so I trust reviews by sites like RPGfan, RPGamer and I usually take a look at all the video reviews I can find on Youtube. The bigger sites like IGN and Gamespot I kinda take with a grain of salt when it comes to their reviews. Now and then IGN has some good reviews, but they've definitely gone downhill (a few years ago I held IGN in much higher regard). Gamespot, in my honest opinion, has some of the worst reviews I've ever read.
No: When I've already made up my mind about a game, I'm gonna buy it no matter what any review says. In most of those cases that's a game from a franchise that I'm already a big fan of. Also, there are a lot of games out there that get less media attention and usually have reviews that are mainly on the negative side (or when a reviewer focuses on an aspect of the game that they feel breaks the game, but I wouldn't be bothered by it myself).. A good example is a game like Nier, which totally fell under my radar at first. It got a lot of lukewarm reviews and no one was reallygiving it the media attention it should've gotten. Because of all the positive feedback coming from certain podcasts and Youtube channels I eventually didn't let the other reviews (from more well-known sites and game magazines) cloud my judgement. So I guess you could say the opinion of someone I know from youtube or a podcast carries more weight for me in comparison with a more well known "popular" source.
RESPONSE #3: HELLOCOMICS - HelloComics
-
In the 16-bit days, when I bought video game magazines, I did pay attention to the review scores and based many of my purchase decisions on them.
Now that I'm older, I know better. I don't look at the reviews from major sites now, I don't care about them. I usually know if I'll like a game from watching just a few minutes of gameplay. I do go on YouTube and watch reviews from people in the community. Even if I'm not interested in the game, it's still fun to watch for me.
RESPONSE #4: LMGGAMING - LMGGaming
-
I rely on one website and one website only for video game reviews, and that's gamespot au. Most of the reviewers there have similar tastes to myself and I am one of the few that think that Skyward Sword deserved the 8.5 score. That's actually a bit too generous if you ask me....
RESPONSE #5: POKEMONZRPG - pokemonzrpg
-
I would ultimately say that I definitely do pay attention to the scores that some of the games I am interested in get, but don't necessarily hold them in high regards. In the end, what matters to me is what our community thinks as well as some of the other small communities I am in. Knowing how knowledgeable our community is on the subject, I definitely care about what they have to say, but at the same time I like to formulate my own opinions as well (like any gamer would).
RESPONSE #6: MAJINPOWERS - majinpowers
-
No, I will check out reviews for game play videos just to be able to see the game in action. I have played games my entire life so I can generally tell by looking at a game if I will enjoy it or not. I tend to like niche games the masses dont and most of those games dont get much press at all. There has been many current gen titles I have liked and thought were leaps and bounds better than some of the big budget titles the press force down your gullet! My biggest pet peeve is when some games are praised for staying true to the genre while niche underrated titles get bashed for not bringing anything new to the table! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!
RESPONSE #7: CRAZYKRAFFT - crazycrafft
-
It is weird with reviews for me because i will not pay attention to the numbers that the reviews put on.But i will pay attention to what they write about the game because i feel that if the reviewer dose not like aspect of the game (story, battle system) they will take the score down a few points just because they don't like one part.
Also i have a feeling that they are afraid to gave the big name games scores lower than a 8/10 because the publishers might get mad at them and not have the reviewers do reviews for their game anymore.
