This week, the Rad Rascals are joined by popular Youtuber and filmmaker extraordinaire Johnny Millenium, aka. Happy Console Gamer. Among the many topics covered includes Johnny's channel, the process and conclusion of making his movie and a recent go-around with EB Games that may just compel him to chock a bitch...or give him a high five, depending on the outcome. We also delve into some of our most warmly nostalgic memories and talk about 80's culture, which made us feel rather old. This is a Rascals episode for the ages and we hope you'll enjoy it. Here's the link for the episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgRJ8ZCY1JA&feature=g-u-u The MP3 and iTunes download links are in the video description. Also, BIG NEWS! Check out our new website. It's a work in progress, so feel free to give us feedback and suggestions. We greatly welcome it. It's http://www.radrascals.com Question of the Week What are some of the products, toys or games from your childhood that you want to have back? Let's get nostalgic, people

To be honest I am a little confused by the people who say that the controls in Skyward Sword are "broken" or render the game "unplayable". Don't get me wrong, SS is one of my least favourite Zeldas and I was really disappointed with it but for all the things it did wrong (and there are a lot), the controls weren't one of them. I can appreciate people not liking the controls or even hating motion controls all together, but in my opinion the controls in SS worked fantastically and did exactly what they set out to do. Probably less than 5 times in the entire game did they ever give me any trouble, which is about on par with normal controls, really. Broken? I think not, my friends. As for the QotW, I can't think of much in the ways of toys I would want back. I held on to a lot of toys back in the day but I have given almost all of them away to less fortunate families. As much as I loved them, I figured some other kid will get more enjoyment out of them. That being said though, if I could have a room full of Lego that would be awesome ![]() For games, the only one from my childhood I that I can think of at the moment was Crusader of Centy. I rented that so many times as a kid but now it's out of my price range. |

I hope Johnny fucking got his Wii U, I am enjoying mine as I finish the episode but if he didn't is this karma for the infamous N64 Rob Man Story? ![]() To answer the Question of the Week Nostalgic games for me include Super Mario Bros 3 I played this game for countless hours dying OVER 9000!!!!!!!! times (yeah I made the over 9000 meme reference big whoop wanna fight about it? Anyway I used to pick up NES games at a local Pawn Shop for 3 bucks a pop getting Mario 2 (which I also enjoyed and think is a good game) NES Play Action Football, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Flashing forward to the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox Era playing Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter for the first time, blew me away all amazing games and I'm happy to see the HD collections now out for them. On the Gamecube Super Mario Sunshine was equally amazing, I love it. (Zero fucks are given if you disagree) Movies wise, Space Jam is a favorite mine. I was a big Michael Jordan fan and Looney Tunes as well so it was like one epic combo that I loved as a kid. I wasn't a big movie kid, but I've seen classics like Wizard of Oz, Lion King, but I was a big magic fan, I remember watching specifically Lance Burton specials when they would come on TV and Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed as well. Toy wise the big thing for me was Hot Wheels Cars, I still have them packed away somewhere but I have quite a few of them another thing I rember was when Inspector Gadget the Movie hit and McDonalds had the toys in the Happy Meals we went every week to get each toy which connected together to create one huge action figure and I do have them all. One more was the super soaker water guns that came out, Specifically the XP 90 Pulse fire which had an adjustable barrel to switch it from a stream to a pulsating stream. My sister broke it soon after getting it when she threw it and broke the nozzle off. TV wise and this will be long and meaty (Insert Cock joke here) some of my favorite shows include classic 90s Nick Gameshows like Nick Arcade, Double Dare, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Global Guts. I'd watch gameshows like Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right. Some of my more nostalgic shows include the 60s Batman Reruns, American Gladiators, Sonic Underground, The Super Mario Bros Supershow, Super Mario World, King of the Hill, the PJs, Family Guy I specifically remember watching the pilot that debuted after the Superbowl that year Futurama, the Simpsons, which is barely 3 and a half months older than me if you count it from the debut episode and not the Tracy Ullman shorts. Great Anime shows like Dragon Ball Z, Salior Moon (yes I did watch that) Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, although I didn't keep up with them in later episodes or the new series after GX in Yu-Gi-Ohs case and other great cartoons like Batman the Animated series Looney Tunes Wile E Coyote being my favorite, Ronin Warriors, Ed,Edd and Eddy, Cow and Chicken, and MTV claasics like the Tom Green Show, Celebrity Deathmatch and Beavis and Butthead. The 90s is to me what the 80s is to someone like Ben. Edited by pegasus187, Nov 22 2012, 07:58 PM.

Oh man, this talk of Hot Wheels cars takes me right back to when I was 8 years old. Collecting them was one of my first obsessions. |

I wouldn't say they were broken but for me, when I wanted to swipe horizontally with Link to hit the enemies with shields etc, he would swipe vertically and vice versa at times. I would deem them as broken if 9 times out of 10, you did the input and nothing happened. Still think the game has a boring world though. |

Loved Johnny being a guest. Question of the Week: Some of the things that I want to see back from my childhood is: Jarts just because a few kids got impaled by the metal darts, it ruined it for everyone else. Another thing that I want to see come back is good music, I just feel that the music that is coming out today is just crap, my favorite music came from the early to the mid 90's and its going to stay that way. As for games that I want, lets be honest I already own the games, but what I want is that feeling that I got back in the day I just don't get the same feeling today when I get a game. Blue Pepsi. |

I find that really odd. I admit that maybe 1/10 times the game would register a vertical when I did horizontal, but to have 9/10 times it do the WRONG things seems very odd. Not to sound rude... but maybe you are doing it wrong? I don't think Nintendo would ship a Zelda game with completely broken controls and most people have no problem with it (my friends, family, and fiance included). |
