As 2012 draws to a close, Ben and Andy return to recount some of the highlights of their holidays and what the previous year has brought them, gaming-wise. Rather than making a boring, run-of-the-mill "Top 10" list, the Rad Rascals are giving out their first annual "Best Games of the Year" awards. Each award is for a specific quality that a game exhibited, whist a couple dwell on the lower points of the year. Can't have the sweet without the sour, right? As mentioned, we decided to not do the typical "Top 10 Games" and focus instead on specific awards. In case they get lost in all of our banter, here are the award categories that we picked: - The "Best Thing To Hold In My Hand Besides My Willy" Award - Best portable (mobile/handheld) game of the year - The "No, It's Not That. I've Got Something In My Eye" Award - Game That Made Us Weep Like Sissies - The "Best Bromance Ga(y)me" Award - Best Co-Op/Multiplayer Experience - The "Double Dipper Special" Award - Best Re-Issue of the year - The "Dogs Bollocks" Award - The best game that we *knew* would be good, and holy fuck did it deliver. - The "OMG This Game Is The Fucking Tits" Award - The game that most surprised us with its awesomeness. - The "Game That Shat The Bed" Award - Most disappointing title. - The "Community Circle-Jerk" Award - The game that everybody liked, but we didn't. - The "Game We're Masturbating In Anticipation To" Award - Most looked-forward to game of 2013. |

Loved the episode guys. Was surprised by some of your answers. i just have to say thanks that some of your answers are games that came out earlier in the year unlike most people's top games which only include games that came out in October and November. Question of the Week: The best game that I have played that came out in 2012 is Mass Effect 3 despite me hating the ending when I first played it but when I look back on the game it was the best game as a whole that I played. It has all that I'm looking for in a game good controls, great story and character interaction. As for the worst game that I played in 2012 I would have to say is Neverdead, I played it for less than hour and hated it and stopped playing. But as for a game that I played and beat that was the worse I would have to say Lollipop Chainsaw, I liked the game but when you break it up and looked at the separate aspects of the game it was pretty bad. As for my Christmas, the day was good got a whole lot of booze from my friends and family so I spent Christmas day getting drunk and playing games. As for the days before and after it was horrible, I work retail and I hated every moment of it, I wish people would know what the fuck they are buying and stop asking me questions and figure out shit on their own. MASHED POTATOES they act as a bowl for the gravy. HEY BEN don't you dare think that we are done playing Borderlands 2 we still have all of the DLC and new game plus to play. I was going to say mashed, but if roasted potatoes are breasts on a plate then I have to go with that. Best games for me are Halo 4, and Forza Horizon. Forza Horizon just made me happy the entire time I played it. It has amazing looking car models, an enormous gorgeous looking open world, I completed every single event along with all of the discount signs 100%, and it's one of my favorite racing games ever made. Just needed a larger soundtrack. I'm actually kinda sad I did everything in it because I still want to play more. Mexican Avalanche. Fucking Tits award goes to Asura's Wrath. Doesn't get any better than a boss penetrating a planet with his thick giant sword. Circle Jerk award goes to Guild Wars 2. I'm not an MMO expert by any means but I just found that game to be really boring. I started playing that and World of Warcraft this year and I just had such a better time with WoW thus far. Love my pandas! Lollipop Chainsaw, and Twisted Metal were the worst for me. Both were beyond disappointing, and Lollipop Chainsaw was just an abysmal game in general. Also Spec Ops The Line...that game is really generic and the plot twist is not jizztastic enough to put up with the shit gameplay like Giantbomb insists. Most looking forward to Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance; played it at PAX and that game is fucking amazing. All over my face Platinum Games, all over. Superman me, do whatever you want I just want that game! I will sell myself on the corner if I have to. My Christmas was great! Spent it with the mom and gf and saw Les Misérables. Great movie although I couldn't help but see Wolverine at the end rather than Jean Valjean. Got a few bottles of liquor and two games so good times all around! Also Ben do you happen to remember the names of any good wineries up there? I'm heading back to the East Coast in a few months and would like to go to Niagara Falls. I've only been wine tasting in Napa, Sonoma, and just outside Seattle and would love some recommendations! Great episode! Enjoyed your public service announcement about hookers. hey guys aint had time to listen to the episode yet, but cant wait to hear it  g.o.t.w - the best game i played that came out this year was max payne 3, i loved the story, the game play everything apart from the long cut scenes. i havent played far cry 3 yet as had it for xmas along with black ops 2 but aint had chance yet, but tonight is the night lol. the worst game i played is prob res evil 6, i played the first level was bored as hell so traded it in the next day. a game that dissappointed me a bit was halo 4, i got caught up in all the hype but should of remember i aint into halo. as for the potatoes its got be be roasties, but not the frozen shit the real deal that are nice crispy mmmm. anyway hope you all had a good xmas and wish you all a happy and safe new year |

My best game of 2012 was Lego Batman 2 and my worst was Lego batman 2. I have only Played one game that came out this year so far so that is why I have the same answer for both, though I just got tales of the abyss 3d and zenoade So after I play those my answer is sure to change. Had had good Xmas with family, recived a nice stack of games and a few Musical instruments. MASHED PORATOS!!! |

I would recommend the Niagara Wine Tour, I have done it a couple of times and it was a blast. http://www.niagarawinetrail.org I know this one is not exactly near Niagara, its more towards the Finger Lakes but they also have a very nice wine tour. Bully Hill |

The wineries I went to on the Canadian side were Inniskilin, Piliterri Estates and Six Rows. There are many more that are worth checking out, but those were easily the best. I sampled some excellent reds and whites, but was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Ice Wine. It's in season now, and some of the ones I tried were fantastic. |

Hey guys, enjoyable episode once again. Our podcast will be doing the GOTY episode this weekend and will pretty much follow the same format as yourselves but with a few different categories and will announce our top 10 games. As far as Best and Worst of 2012, up to a point my favourite game would have been Journey then it was Darksiders II but I decided that it was The Walking Dead. People out there badger on about it not being a proper game I feel are wrong because it is an adventure game with a terrific story and writing and characters you get invested into throughout the game's 5 episodes. I was actually going to wait until all 5 were out but decided to get the season on Steam over the summer and did not regret it one bit since I anticipated each episode and no episode to me felt weak. As far as worst, I didn't play a lot of games I can consider really shit now but I would say probably the London 2012 game since I pretty much bought it on impulse during the Olympics and it was decent enough but with not a whole lot of events to go through and some of them being pretty mediocre, it is not a great game to play overall and didn't touch it when the Olympics ended. My Christmas was fine and was just nice to be with my family eating Christmas dinner and hanging out. Got a Wii U ZombiU Premium bundle and downloaded NSMB U. Shame to sayI've been using Netflix more than playing the games. NSMB U is good but music still sucks in that series. Got a watch, socks and other bits and bobs. I am grateful as my mother and that can't afford as much as she used to. The Wii U was from everyone. I love both mashed and roasted potatoes so it is hard to choose but if I had to choose, it will be roasted. (sorry Ben!) Edited by Darro, Jan 2 2013, 04:29 AM.

Ok to start off, MASHED POTATOES with gravy or butter, salt and pepper, delicious. I could eat it any day of the week, and my Christmas was great, got so see alot of friends that I haven't in quite some time, some years. Got absolutely shit faced a few times, got some good gifts, had fun, and Jack Daniels Honey is really good, Andsy needs to try it. - The "Best Thing To Hold In My Hand Besides My Willy" Award - I haven't played any Handheld games this year, well ones that were released this year on the 3DS. I do not own a Vita......yet. But I'll throw an IOS game out there, and that would be Punch Quest, and I have to thank my fellow User co Host Cronolink9 on that one. Great endless runner/ beat em up IOS game. - The "No, It's Not That. I've Got Something In My Eye" Award - The Walking Dead, I'm only 1 Episode in but this game can invoke an emotional reaction out of anybody - The "Best Bromance Ga(y)me" Award - Best Co-Op/Multiplayer Experience - now I could cay Call of Duty Black Ops 2, which I do enjoy online. But I think I have to say, and I sadly can't say Double Dragon Neon, as I only have played that by my self, I am waiting for the Online patch with my dragon in my hand. But I have to go with Happy Wars, this is a FREE XBLA title and its a online capture the base type game. If you don't have it, get it, this is a must own for the 360 - The "Double Dipper Special" Award - Best Re-Issue of the year Ratchet and Clank HD, I love the Ratchet and Clank series, and it is just as good today as it was 10 years ago. Runner up the Jak and Daxter HD Collection - The "Dogs Bollocks" Award - Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD, this game is a great HD upgrade that features levels from Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 and 2 and has DLC for levels from THPS 3 out now, the Revert trick and another song for the soundtrack All Nightmare Long by Metallica and future DLC for THPS 4 and the soundtrack is half new music and half old music from THPS 1 and 2. I love the Tony Hawk Series and I came when I heard about the HD Release. I love it with mouth. - The "OMG This Game Is The Fucking Tits" Award - The Walking Dead, i heard many, many good things about it, Gamester81 streamed the whole series on his twitch.tv channel, Andsy loves it to bits, Ben get on finishing it, you know I will, and it is as good as everyone says, the story is amazing, the replay value is there, the art style is great, the characters are awesome, the voice acting is top notch and I love it - The "Game That Shat The Bed" Award - Nintendo Land, No Online is my reason, I think this really should have online, and I also agree on the fact the PSVita really shit the bed, I hope they start supporting it and have a price drop. Because I don't think it will survive if it doesn't - The "Community Circle-Jerk" Award - I have nothing on this, sorry guys, i can't say I've played a game this year that everyone liked but I didn't. So here's a Ninja Penguin moment ........ Newfoundland lobster trap - The "Game We're Masturbating In Anticipation To" Award - I've got a 3 way answer here, Sly 4: Thieves in Time, I love the Sly Cooper Series and I have been waiting 8 years for a new game in the series. GTA 5, From what I have read about it, it's shaping up to be a great game. and South Park: the Stick of Truth, South Park Games have gotten alot better now like South Park Tenormans Revenge. Tbh I don't think roasted potatoes are very popular over here in states. Our fat asses eat fried potatoes mostly but for the sake of argument I prefer mashed. And gotsta have dat gravy. I mix my corn and potaotos and gravy together and just go to town. |

My game of the year for 2012 is Transformers Fall of Cybertron. I know the game is nothing ground breaking but this was the first time I was actually excited to play a game in a very long time. I beat the single player in a day and had a blast with it. Also enjoyed playing multiplayer for couple months afterward. Honorable mentions: The Walking Dead, Xenoblade,The Witcher 2, and Borderlands 2. My Christmas was awesome with family, friends and good food = winning combination. Gifts I got were New Super Mario Bros 2, Jak and Daxter collection, the movie Ted, and the new The Sword album Apocryphon. Mashed Potatoes all the way Roasted Potatoes can ROAST IN HELL!!!
