I went to a semi-local game store a few days ago and picked up Pocky & Rocky 2 on the SNES. I had been eyeing it for the last 6 months and he had it horribly overpriced at $100 for the cartridge only. I ended up getting it for $70 when I pointed out that fact to the owner and he reluctantly let it go.

I have to say, I really liked the first one but the sequel is amazing. It really reminds me of Mystical Ninja (A very good thing) with the shops, random houses you can enter, and the overall feel of it. The partner combo attacks are awesome! Throwing a tanuki at a boss and having it transform into the old-man tanuki statue for epic damage is just awesome. The armor and power up items are changed and offer a better idea of how many hits you can take now. I liked the first one for it's difficulty with no save/password features but this one has a password system. It makes the game feel beatable, which takes away a bit of the charm since I really feel that a lot of retro games are more fun when you have to get better at the game to succeed.

Anyone play it and have thoughts? :)
