It's time to say a hearty "bye bitches!" to 2012 and usher in a brand new year. That's right, 2013 is upon us! In this episode, Ben and Andy look ahead to the coming year and discuss some of the upcoming life events that we'll be facing, all of which we hope will reap positive results. Additionally, the topic of new years resolutions is also touched upon. Of course, this being a gaming podcast, we would be remiss if we didn't talk about what games we have been playing, as well as touching upon the fate of our respective game collections. I haven't watched the CaffieneMediaGirl video but I know of it from what people were saying on twitter and on the forums here and of course you are going to get people who are jealous as hell and who feel that the person who donated has an ulterior motive behind the gesture. Rusty (relewis2011) had a similar thing happen to him that he got mystery stuff sent to him by someone but not to the same value but still it was a bunch of games and a PS3 system. I definitely feel she was undeserving, not because of jealousy or anything like that, but simply because she didn't even act like she knew what half of the stuff was, what it was worth, or even that she wanted the stuff to play. The whole time I got a "oh cool, shelf filler!" vibe from the video. If that were me, and probably 95% of the gaming community, we probably would've blacked out on video while opening the box. |

I don't think it's fair to say that she's undeserving, especially since she never asked for any of that stuff and the person sent it to her on their own free will. We only mentioned it on the podcast because it's something unusual that merited mentioning, especially given the value of the haul. I'm hard pressed to think of any other instance where a Youtuber has gotten something like that. I have no shame in admitting that I'm envious as hell. I mean, come on, who wouldn't be? However, I think the backlash against her is unfair. The games were donated, and I don't think a person's knowledge equates to their worthiness of receiving a gift. tbh... i dont think ANYONE from YT would deserve that stuff. And i think she was probably so shocked at the gift that she didnt know how to react / act. I still dont know what to make of this all, ulterior motives etc. Probably never will 'get it' either |

Plans for 2013 and resolutions for me include continue to lose weight, I've dropped 15 pounds in the last few months and I intend to keep that up. I'd like to drop another 50 at least in the next year. Not be so impulsive in game buying and save money is another one. I am a horrible impulse buyer with games, I see a game I want and I have money, well my wallet will be lighter within a few minutes. I want to try and help make the Users podcast better going through the year, and put out more content on Youtube and take that to the next level. I plan on continuing living my life, doing the same thing I have been doing, working hard and then going out and getting my drink on on the weekends

Hey, I think we were all jealous, how could we not be? I am still completely baffled that some one would send that for free. Good for her, crappy for all of us! All though, I don't think I could accept something like that, I would feel weird knowing its rarity and value.

making my way through the episode now and really enjoying it i think the caffinemediagirl is getting alot of unfair shit, id love to get something like that. i think she will keep the lot and be very very grateful for it. q.o.t.w - im getting married in florida this year so thats my main plan, plus the mrs has put as both on a diet so thats something to look forward to  but i can do with losing a stone..... or 2.

With this caffinemediagirl stuff, all I have to say is fuck off. Its annoying how people overreact and say "this person does not deserve this gift, yada yada." well, apparently the person who sent it did think so, and why care? Its one random person on youtube getting a bigger donation than usual. You should be like "oh cool someone got some stuff" not like "not deserving" *dislike*. But there is the one thing, someone sending $1,500 of stuff, It might have been hers used for attention whoring? probable. Either way, the response to all this is ridiculous. As far as New year resolutions, Do good in college and get a part time job. |

Im always jealous of things that get sent out to others, so this isn't any different really. It just so happens that it is worth a large sum of cash, either way i wasn't going to get my hands on it and neither was anyone else so im not really bothered. I never make resolutions as i can never keep them, but i do plan on having a holiday this year as its been way too long since i had a proper one. I also wish i hadnt seen anything about the new Evil Dead, i think it looks a little bit shit and it gave way too much footage in the trailer but i hope to be pleasantly suprised when i do finally see it. |

Haha, yeah, that's what I was telling her on Facebook. I reacted the same way she did honestly. I hadn't heard of some of the games/movies my friend had sent me, and was in utter shock. How are you supposed to react in such a video? Whether she was familiar with the games or not, I don't think there's any way of measuring how "deserving" anyone is when they receive any gift. How "deserving" are you of any birthday or Christmas gift? Jealousy in inevitable in these types of situations, obviously, but there's no need to project that jealousy in her comment box with hateful comments...which of course is what's happened. I just hope you enjoys playing the games, which I have no doubt she will. |

As with the whole caffinemediagirl the only reason why people are pissed is that they do not get cool shit like that sent to them for free. Me personly I would actually send all of that stuff back because it is worth so much. Question of the Week: Lets just say that 2013 for me is going to be the year of the backlog. I'm going to cut down on the spending on games a lot espically new games. My backlog is at an all time high and I just think that it is time to finally start knocking it down to a reasonable level. Also cut down on the booze and the crappy food. Evil Dead trailer I would have to say a yay but would prefer it to have less gore. The whole trailer was like how much gore can we possibly put in this. |

That trailer looks ridiculous, I'm in. Irish facial, definitely checking that out after a few beers with friends. I don't make New Years resolutions because fuck that if I wanted to change something I'd do it sooner like you guys said. 2013 will be a fun year for sure! I'm going to be an Uncle this year!! I'm going to Florence, Venice, Rome, and London in August and have a Portuguese breakfast... Coachella and Sasquatch in April & May. Back to New York in June, screaming seagull, and maybe Pax Prime after I get back from Europe. Game wise I really want to beat Dead Space 2 before the third one comes out, and I'm so excited for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Hoping the new Aliens game turns out okay because it was really buggy at pax. I broke the co-op demo they had there lol. Glad you're enjoying Nier! I love the banter between Kaine and Weiss. I downsized my collection recently as well for the same reasons. I am not a collector so if a game doesn't leave an impact on me, or if I don't play it often then it's gone. I don't really want shelf after shelf of games I don't play lol. Agreed crazycrafft I'd sell that stuff in a heartbeat. I have no interest in any of it aside from the value. lol. |

I not a big resolution maker since i think its stupid, most people quit after 2 weeks and its all just a big joke. But the second semester of school starts up right now and i want to change my approch to it. In the past year i have gotten very lazy with school, im normally head of the class best but i have stopped doing homework on time or at all for some classes, my tests are normally high from listening in class but want to stop that. Stop procrastinating and being lazy. Its not nessarly a new year revolution but a new beging to start the grade book over again. But my BIG new years revibration is to spread the word of the sicky, unhumain horrid lothsome game know as God Hand. And i agree with Bens idea (i dont think it was from this episode, mabey a few back) of having a gym for 2 weeks then a bar for the rest of the year, since lossing weight and being fit are 2 of the top revolations. |
