I dont feel i've been paying enough attention to the whole Namco/Bandai debaucle, so im just not going to comment. I get the jist of what has happened but im sure i'll find out more as i listen to the show. Yeah, im being a dick and answering before i've heard the episode. :/ As far as music recommendations go though, i have a few... Austrian Death Machine Just metal tunes inspired by the Death Machine himself, Arnie! Some of the lyrics are hilarious and the spoken word sections had me reeling in laughter the first time i heard them. I recommend getting the double brutal album as it has covers of The Terminator theme, Metallica, Judas Priest and Motorhead. Neurosis Very heavy, pretty negative but truly one of the best bands i've ever had the pleasure of listening to. A band that knows how to contrast dynamic levels and really stike home powerful and meaningful music. CarboHydroM I think i've linked him to you before Ben, but he is the guy that did the 20 minute metal zelda medley. You can get his tracks for free from his site so do him a favour and check them out. The Bar-Kays Late 60's/70's/80's funk. It's good for the soul, so go get some! |

You're always welcome to check out my band, I suggest listening to the whole album its only about 23 minutes, most of the songs are differently styled as well I will also say, we recorded this ourselves in my spare room over the course of two days. So it's not perfect, but very listenable. I was severely underwhelmed by Andsy's whiskey dickishness. Shenanigans, I say! I wanna hear him properly fuckered up in the future. I think Namco Bandai/Digital River royally fucked up, and if the twat in Canada can threaten them with legal action, then I think everyone who was screwed out of the collector's edition should too. For the QotW: No, you're not fucking me, bitch. Seriously, no, the compensation just seems like a cheap compromise. I think they are obligated to honor the pre-orders along with offering the compensation. And if not that, the only way I personally would be appeased in this situation is if they handed away a free copy of the regular edition. As for music... Brace yourselves bitches.

So I've been listening to Infected Mushroom's "Army of Mushrooms" via YouTube, and wow I did not expect to hear the sounds I am hearing! It still has the IM stamp in the music, and no two albums sound alike, and oddly enough I thought I would find myself asking for more of their usual "psy" element, but I am digging it. Thanks for telling me they had a new album! |

Question of the Week: The whole Namco Bandai/Digital Rivers thing is one bis ass cluster fuck. They should of grown some balls and told Play Canada to go fuck them because it is a scummy practice of someone selling pre-orders on ebay. Plus they should of have known that they oversold the edition months before it even came out instead of telling people at the last minute because they shut off the pre-orders in what September. As for music that I have been listening to lately is some of my favorite bands Flogging Molly and Lynyrd Skynyrd. We need to get away from all this Bjork stuff. I'll refrain from being the typical a-hole and not point out any mistakes that were made like Ben incorrectly saying Drippy's accent is Scottish when it is Welsh (they do sound a bit similar though so I can see why you would make the mistake). Whoops, guess I'm a hypocrite. Here's one for your next name that sex act game: Tahitian Face Mask (might have done it already so apologies if so). In response to the QOTW: No, I don't think what the consumers get as compensation from Namco Bandai is good enough because they paid money for a product that they wanted and Digital River and Namco screwed them over by giving in to this asshole of a ebay reseller called PlayCanada (Blame Canada! :P) and him pretty much screwing people over by selling them at 4 times the value but some people are not so smart when they end up paying that, which pissed me off just as much as it did with Andy. As far as music goes, I have a mixture of musical taste but I won't listen to all genres. Certain dance stuff, hip-hop, rap and the darker side of metal is just not my forte. Prefer music that I can easily listen to and provides a memorable melody and whatnot. Anyway onto the artists: - Within Temptation - symphonic metal band from the Netherlands - Enya - Irish singer - Pet Shop Boys - electronic/synthpop British duo - The National - US alternative/indie rock band - HIM (His Infernal Majesty) - Finnish metal band - Nightwish - similar to Within Temptation but are from Finland - Evanescence - US metal band who used to be great but latest album was quite poor - The Divine Comedy - Northern Irish chamber pop band who did the theme tune to Father Ted. - Longview - English indie rock band who only have the one album out but love it. Think that will do! |
