So my boyfriend surprised me with a PDF of the wizard's companion on my iPad! This takes just a little bit of the sting out of missing out on the wizard's edition of the game. He said that someone found the wizard's companion files within the game disc, extracted them, and now have them on the internet for download. It is quite the sizable file (almost half a gig, I believe) but it is definitely worth the space it takes up on my iPad. Since the PDF comes from the actual file and are not physical scans, the quality is flawless.

Just spreading the joy!

I may be mistaken, but isn't this technically copyright infringement?

Oh, it is, I am sure. However, allow me to make the argument that:

[1] I own the game and the strategy guide. I pre-ordered them both and purchased them on launch at full retail price. The complete wizard's companion is an actual part of the game. It can be accessed within the game. The files for the PDF were extracted from the game disc. I even desperately attempted to buy a wizard edition of the game from the publisher, so that I could enjoy a physical copy of the wizard's companion. A lot of other people did, too, and like myself, failed. I would still buy a physical copy from the publisher if the means were made available to me.

[2] I posted no links to the download and honestly have no Idea where it was downloaded from, because my boyfriend found and downloaded it for me as a surprise. I think google could point those interested in the right direction, however.

I understand where you are coming from, but I think that this infringement is an acceptable one :)

Yea, it's really cool, especially if your the kind of people who buys stuff to keep in the box so they can resell on eBay in years, or one of the people who couldn't get a copy. I found it, it's on a random forum, but really cool.

100% in support of this. I have a physical copy, but there is absolutely no harm or foul in doing this. This item is not for sale by Namco Bandai, so the publisher and more importantly the developer is not losing money over this. I really feel having the Wizard's Companion is the way to play the game. It is much more immersive that way. It really is a shame Namco Bandai didn't produce more of these and it has nothing to do with collector purposes. This game is meant to be played with this Wizard's Companion by your side not using the in game book.

In a realm beyond sight.
The sky shines gold,not blue.
There,the triforce's might
Make mortal dreams come true.

I agree whole heartedly. Glad someone was more tech savvy than I and accomplished the extraction of the wizard's companion

I actually did this for the strategy guide. Got annoyed by having to hold this huge book. I spend money on the real thing, dont feel bad about the pdf of the actual thing. Makes it easier to read on my tablet.
