Greetings and salutations, everyone! Over the past year, we have cultivated a nice little niche community around the Rad Rascals podcast, a fact we are both extremely grateful for. One thing we have mentioned on previous episodes is the development of our own website, which has been a work in progress for some time now, and we let it slip on episode 42 that we are also developing our own forum. The time has come! Here is the introduction of our brand new forum: http://www.radrascals.com/forum/ We will be heavily promoting our new forum on the podcast, as well as our social media pages, and we encourage all of you to join the forum and help making it a bumpin' success. Now, to clear up a few questions that this might raise... 1. Why start your own forum when you already have one on PGRF? This is something that Andy and I have discussed at length. The Radical Rascals is a gaming-themed podcast, however we have branched off into many different topics such as music, movies, community interaction and more adult-oriented content. The discussion for these tends to get buried in our episode topics, so having our own forum allows us to separate these and people can actively contribute to these topics over time. Additionally, a large portion of our listener base is not on PGRF and not involved in the Youtube community, so this gives us a chance to amalgamate both audiences. 2. Are you leaving PGRF altogether? Absolutely not. The PGRF community has been the backbone of our podcast and we are extremely grateful for everything Pete and the community has given to us. This is simply a move to expand on our existing forum and allow for the discussions to flow better. We will remain active, contributing members of the forum, and I will remain a dedicated moderator. The community is near and dear to us, and we would never turn our backs on it. 3. Are you trying to compete with PGRF? Not at all. The creation of our own forum is simply to expand upon our discussion topics and give own community its own little home on the internet. This decision was not made due to any unhappiness with the forum or the people on it, nor is it an attempt to undermine PGRF in any way. We remain dedicated to this form as we have always been. 4. This is a risky move, is it not? Absolutely, and it's not something that Andy and I have marched blindly into. Breaking away from the norm and starting your own thing always carries an element of risk, and it is possible that this endeavour won't work out. Having said that, you never get anywhere in life if you don't try. We sincerely hope that we have your support in making this work, but we also understand that a few listeners might not follow us over. Cool guys, the new forum seems to be filling in quite nicely for starting so recently. It just definitely needs some improvements appearance and design-wise and then you'll be all set! I'm looking forward to being active on there! I've been slacking majorly on activity on the Gamester81 forums, so I might have to get more active on there as well. Between these three, I'm going to be having my hands full! |

Hey guys, just want to wish you luck with your new forums! No hard feelings, nobody signs a contract of exclusivity when they get a forum here on PGRF  RR is more than just a gaming podcast, so I totally agree about the "off topic" forums and I think you guys will be very successful with it. I have fallen way behind on listening to RR lately because of how busy I have been (I was doing very well listening weekly too). Maybe I will be able to catch up sometime. |

Just a note: Just now I've been noticing a lot of bugs and error messages. Particularly when I've been trying to edit my signature. It won't let me preview it or submit it, so I'm stuck without one. Also, the forum has overall just been moving really slowly and acting unresponsive. |

Been enjoying the new forum guys. I like that all the topics are all quite stream line at the moment, not spread out too much. But I have gotten this message a few times today and it's also been a little slow, are you growing too fast?  "General Error SQL ERROR [ mysqli ] User phpXZ8U7hwv already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections [1203] An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists." I would have left the message there but I couldnt get on to leave it. Other than that the forums are going great. |
