Just for fun, I thought I'd make a list of all the games Chris has given a perfect score to over the years, as well as all the games he gave one's to. Turns out there's not many, but here's the list anyway. ![]() Here are the reviews where he handed out that elusive perfect 5 out of 5: Bonk's Revenge "It is one of the best platformers on the system, and to me, it proves that a sequel can meet or surpass our own crazy expectations." Devil's Crush "Definitely one of the great ones from the TurboGrafx library, and this recommendation is coming from a pinball fan, a pinball collector, and a true pinhead." Dracula X: Rondo of Blood "In terms of old-school pre-Metroid-like Castlevania games, this one is unique, and definitely one of the best." Dungeon Explorer II "Any minor flaws I noticed are eclipsed by the rest of the game, and Dungeon Explorer II is just awesome, including some of the best the Turbo had to offer." Gate of Thunder "Gate of Thunder: f----n' awesome!" Ys Book I & II "Many of these CD-ROM games really did not demonstrate why it was a perfect technology for future gaming, but in my opinion, Ys Book I & II was one that did." Beyond Shadowgate "ICOM Simulations is kind of hit or miss with me on the TurboGrafx, but it seems like with Beyond Shadowgate, they pulled out at all the stops and created a heck of a solid, well-choreographed Super CD." And here are games that got the lowest of the low, 1 out of 5: Deep Blue "I played it so I could review it, and with two stages left to go (sigh) I have had my fill of Deep Blue forever." Timeball "Timeball is a strategy game that misses the mark, providing frustrating and boring gameplay, and headaches galore from the very first level." And although it actually got a 1.5 (he liked the graphics), here's the infamous review of Darkwing Duck where Chris goes into "angry nerd" mode: Darkwing Duck "The NES gets Capcom-created Disney games, and we get this crap." I wonder what other games Chris might give fives or ones to. Edited by Nester, Dec 20 2013, 02:36 PM.

More like Darkwing Suck. The TG-CD version of Ys I & II should be required retrogaming. |
