Goku was my hero growing up! I didn't even know who superman was--only that he frequently got confused with birds and planes. No one confuses a gargantuan raging ape with a bird or a plane. Especially not a gold one. |

I remember watching some sort of video where some people calculated their strengths and came up with the conclusion that Superman is stronger. I was pretty fucking sleep deprived though and I quit watching it pretty fast since they seemed to have based Goku's power on what he was in early dbz and then just multiplied that power with his super saiyan transformations which seemed like complete bullshit to me. Then again I did go straight to bed afterwards so I'm not too sure if I even got the right idea. Anyway I'll go with Goku because he has instant transmission, ability to sense ki or whatever and all kinds of energy beams etc. |

Yeah, I remember a video saying Superman would come out the victor. Personally, I'd root for Goku. He could instant-transmission Supes to some far off galaxy or King Kai's planet and, boom, there goes his powers. Well, if things got dire, however, there would probably be 8 episodes of fighting and 130 powering up. |

I think the video you all are referring to is the Death Battle video on the subject matter. For myself personally, I think Goku would win. Instant transmission is a powerful technique. Goku could in theory, instant transmission Superman to a planet or area full of kryptonite and blow it up. In DBZ, its absurdly easy to destroy planets... |

You guys are forgetting that Goku's biggest weakness would be wanting to fight superman at his full potential! If Superman was fully charged with solar energy It would be one hell of a fight. That's true. Goku is really stupid like that, actually. For example, helping Cell regain energy so Gohan could fight him at his full potential. I used to think that was stupid at first, but then I realized in order for Gohan to defeat Cell, Cell needed to be at full power so Gohan would be pushed over the edge...that's something else entirely. But yeah, it's dumb that Goku always wants to fight people at full strength. |

Goku would beat Superman. Goku doesn't really have a true weakness. Sure his will to fight someone at full strength could be a small disadvantage but its not really a true physical weakness. Its not like kryptonite where it could weaken superman a lot. |

Can't argue with that can you xD Instant-transmission is one of the big trump cards Goku has in this battle, eeeeeeven if none could best each other in close combat, through use of energy attacks (lazor eyeses vs Kamehameha etc...) or through speed, the instant-transmission lets Goku dump Superman pretty much anywhere he wants. He might be able to travel at the speed of light or whatever, but that's still a VERY long time if, say, he dumped him on the opposite side of the galaxy.
I dissagree, knowing his full potential he either instant-transmissions him away, knowing that he won't be a threat, or goes and trains for a retarded amount of time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber untill he knows his power level can beat Supermans. |

It's not just Vegeta. It's pretty much every non halfie saiyan in the Dragon Ball universe. Vegeta seemed actually pretty "sane" regarding this issue during the Buu saga. |

Isn't Superman unbeatable without Kryptonite? That would give the battle to him, though I can't imagine Goku losing. The rules would tell you Superman, but come on it is Goku. |
