My girlfriend always goes to Barnes & Noble and I started buying "real" books instead of reading Manga all the time. I recently finished a book called "Cryonic: A Zombie Novel" by Travis Bradberry and it was fantastic. It's probably my favorite (at the moment) until I read some of the other books I have stacked up.
