Worst Ending ever?

I think Remember 11: The Age of infinity has the worst ending in a video game, as they end it off like 2/3rds the way in the plot, a lot of elements aren't explained, and a killer psychopath is holding a baby on the top of a cliff, singing a creepy song... That ending is so alienating.... Worst ending ever... If they didn't screw up the ending, remember 11 would have been my favorite VN.

Both endings were just really bad. Asura's Wrath's ending is just a fiasco and Dragon Age 2's just made me extremely disappointed at the bad writing.

Honestly though, I cant think of one that was terrible from a story standpoint. The ending to Batman Arkham Asylum was kinda iffy but not terrible. Most games that have terrible endings generally have terrible beginnings and middles so I usually quit before I get to the end.

Ds Games! Posts: 3,129 Group: Moderator Member #511 Joined: Apr 6, 2009	One that stands out in my recent memory is that of Trace Memory on the ds. The story was getting very interesting, opening up a bunch of different paths the story could have gone down, and then in the end it just goes down none of them and ends a bit abruptly.

I've seen games have a worse /airquote ending this is the ending to a trilogy. It spit on just about every established plot thread in the previous two games as well as me3. Such a disapointment and its only barely tolerable after patches and dlc.

Level 5 Posts: 731 Group: Members Member #3,478 Joined: Feb 24, 2011	I was really disappointed with the ending of Fallout 3, there was no logic in the way it ended (especially with the character following me) and at the time I finished it you had no option to continue exploring the wasteland. The rest of the game leading up to the ending was so good that I guess my expectations were set too high because I was severely let down.

I would add Dragon Age II's ending to the list which coincidently is another Bioware game lol. Someone on the Bioware forums pretty much nailed why I didn't like the ending or the main questline as a whole. Dragon Age II was also just such a huge step down from Origins in every way aside from having The Arishock as a really awesome antagonist. The writing as a whole was worse, and re-using the same city but locking and unlocking sections of it is fucking stupid when there were numerous cities you could go to in the previous game. It's something to stop, sure, but it's not compelling. No one will ever say that the Arch-Demon was right (unlike Meredith who I believe was right). The problem is the War with Templar/Mages happens. Hawke does nothing that prevents or causes that war. Hawke does nothing but side quests while avoiding the entire issue as much as possible until the game forces the issue with the Chantry explosion. The argument is that personal freedom (Mages) vs public safety (Templars). That argument breaks down completely when every mage is evil and the Templars are led by a crazy person because an Idol made her do it. Now there's no argument. The Mages were evil and the Meredith was crazy because the plot told her to be so. And Hawke has no affect on any outcome, good or ill. That's a storytelling problem. That's part of the reason why the ending just happens and we're left feeling disappointed. It's not because it's a cliffhanger or because it's about the journey instead of the destination, the journey is Crazy people and demons but only after dozens of hours of finding lost kittens and fighting innumerable sized gangs in the streets. Bionic Commando's ending was also incredibly stupid, but kind of amazing too with the whole wife arm thing lol. Edited by NinjaPenguin8969, Oct 12 2013, 11:05 PM.

Even with the dlc the narrator and Fawkes make you seem like a cunt for sending in Fawkes instead of committing suicide. Garbage ending with nonsense writing.
