Unfortunately, my hiccups are very stubborn.
Hiccups plague me.

When I was little, my grandma used to scare me so badly I would cry, and still hiccup through my tears. For a while, when I was still very young, I'd convinced myself that if I ate a slice of Kraft cheese it would cure my hiccups (and it worked for a few years, but idk wtf I was thinking). I've learned to hold my breath for up to 3 minutes. I still hiccup. I drink a glass of water. Nothing.

The "hiccup again and I'll give you a dollar" trick has also won me more than a few hypothetical dollars. They never paid up.

What seemed to work last time was holding my breath and putting a ton of pressure on my,lungs by contracting my rib muscles.

So, what works for you?

This is what I do, though I'm not sure if its effects are purely psychosomatic.

Usually just calming myself down and they go away fairly quickly. I had them earlier tonight after stuffing my face at wing night lol once I was able to relax and stop laughing they slowed down and eventually stopped after about 10 minutes.
