Anyone picking this up on Tuesday? I can't wait for it. I haven't watched a ton of videos about it but from what I've seen it looks outstanding. I'm really excited for some good ol' co-op fun.

My copy for Vita has been shipped by Videogamesplus! Looking forward to picking up the Vita again! Game looks awesome, I was on the fence about it for a while.

This better wash away the horrible aftertaste Code of Princess left in my brawler mouth!

I may pick it up, but am waiting to watch some reviews and gameplay. A while back, I told myself that my next Vita purchase would be the Ys game coming out in September, so I kind of overlooked this one. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.

Ordered it for Vita myself, with the pre-order artbook for £40. Which isn't bad, considering it's not even got a UK release date yet :P I'm expecting it to be delivered tomorrow with any luck.

My import copy came yesterday (kinda funny that i'm playing a US import before it's actually released there lol), and i've not put it down since I opened it. To me, the gameplay feels like the evolution Golden Axe should have took, it's somewhat similar to Shadow over Mystara and Tower of Doom. Unlike those classics though, there is a loot system (somewhat similar to Diablo, though it all comes from chests and bosses) which makes it super addictive (thanks inner loot whore :P). It's all the stuff you would expect from a normal RPG, weapons, accesories etc.. which adds a nice layer of complexity to the hack 'n slash style gameplay.

And the art style looks beauuuuuutiful in motion, it's like a moving watercolour. Though the screen tends to get super hectic and fills up with special effects when everyone is fighting.. you definately need to be paying attention to where your character is, else you might get confused very quickly.

And you know what the best part is about Dragon's Crown gameplay?

No plane switching. Seriously, I hate that in a brawler game!

I have an awesome week lined up for myself. I preordered a PS3 copy of Dragon's Crown (the optimal platform to play it on I might add), and look forward to getting the artbook with it. Several friends and I are going to Otakon on Thursday - Sunday, which is the largest anime convention on the East coast. We're going to go through Dragon's Crown when it comes out and then hit the convention on the weekend. Can't wait!

I apologize for double posting, but if this is accurate than thank you God for answering my prayers. The game looks so good! You know, some of us should get together tomorrow and play online for a bit.

You do realize that you need to beat the game first before you can actually play online. This was quite an interesting thing that Atlus added. I wont mind it as I prefer solo first anyway. But dont expect online out-of-the-box. Gotta pick a char and beat the 9 stages with it.

Also another bigger oversight is that if you want a different class online, you need to beat it again before you can take that class online. This is my main gripe.

Correct.

Whats with the self contradiction? lol

It took me just over 5 hours before I could play online (that's including going back to each dungeon at least once to do side quests). Though If you get the PS3 version you can do local co-op from the very start.

Sorry, if I made a mistake or anything, I am basing this of what I read on Siliconera.

In any case, let me rephrase my post.

I am not big on multiplayer games, especially online. In the case of DC, I was going to solo the game anyway and maybe after that try online.

So on Siliconera I read that for each class in the game, you need to beat the main game first, which I believe is aroudn 9 stages or levels. Once you do, that class is allowed to be used online. If this is not correct, please correct me, I am still waiting on my game.

In any case, triforce was talking about online play, I have read that local co-op is supported from the start.

If I mixed anything up, let me know.

I was also told that one must beat the game first. I'm 4hrs and 45 minutes into the game at present. Once I'm able to play online, ill repost and see if anyone wants to play.

You play through all of the A routes of each stage once to unlock online. After that you have to play through the B routes (so 9 more levels) and you are going to do more grinding along the A routes. So pretty much 1/3-1/2 of the gameplay has to be done before you take a character online.

Which I agree is still less than ideal, but i'm getting really testy with people who are spreading the information that you have to play the whole game before you play online, which has already turned quite a few people off of buying it. So sorry if i'm coming through a little abrasive :P

On another note, so far i'm maining Sorceress. Love the support and AoE capabilities she has.

I picked it up yesterday and played for about 8 hours with my friend. We've finished the pirate stage and every available side quest. I absolutely LOVE this game. It has amazing couch coop. We're finishing it tomorrow.

Ah no worries Omega. I can understand it, also dont enjoy half information/misinformation spread out there. I apologize, I based it of reviews.

Still waiting on the game and hopefully I can get trhough the A and B routes quickly. No idea which char I am going to pick though....

I can safely say the Elf is INSANELY fun to play. I've played as the elf, the wizard and the fighter. Elf is my main thus far.
