EverQuest Next isn't just a remake of EverQuest but more of a reimagining of the game. While you will be able to jump in a feel like your still in Norrath SOE is promising "a boldly different game unlike anything that has come before"! EverQuest Next has been in development since 2009 and has undergone many changes to try and create something fresh and new for the MMO scene. Sony has been saying that Everquest Next will be the largest sandbox game ever made. Being a Sandbox game means that your always in control of what you want your character to be and to do. You are never forced into whatever content the developers have planed for you to do next. EQN will achieve this by offering player developed content, fully destructible environments, Emergent AI, leveless progression so you can go and start anywhere you like, and a multiclass skill system with 40 professions to mix and match from. while a lot of this has been done before Sony is promising that EQN will implement these features into the game on a level never before saw in MMO games. The game is created using a block system similar to Minecraft so everything in the game can be destroyed. The world has been designed from the core outward so you can literately start digging a hole and end up finding content and stuff to do in the layers of the block made world. This winter SOE will be releasing EverQuest Next Landmark (a powerful set of tools used in creating content for the game) to the public and offering contests for your user created stuff to be included in EQNext right from launch. SOE also has a section on the webpage called the round table were starting now you can log in and vote on stuff affecting EQNext development. SOE Live 2013 EverQuest Next press show! I played a lot of eq2 and had multiple accounts. I love what they are doing. Hopefully they will build in the city building from galaxies into this tho. While homes and halls were good in eq2 it never stacked up to the Star Wars Galaxies counterpart.

Yes I also hope they go with housing like in Star Wars Galaxies! What they could do with this game is unbelievable if everything they say is true! I'm very excited to see how this pans out myself! The Emergent AI system sounds very nice I hope it really works like they described it! SOE Live 2013 EQNext Q and A! as well as the other Panels from SOE 2013 about EQNext were added to top post! gawd that female human concept art is hawt. Greater Faydark looks very similar to what it does now only more hyper realized. So does Freeport. (I personally hate Freeport). Edited by hooflung128, Aug 9 2013, 09:18 PM.

Round Table Response #1 - Armor Customization I think out of all the MMO games I have played that DC Universe Online has the best armor customization system out there. Something similar to this is what I would love to see in EQN! |

EQN Round Table Response #2 and #3 I voted for the option of being able to choose having a beard and that I wanted the tool kit to be very in depth regardless of complexity. The took kit needs to have lots of options and be complex to allow people to create without limitation! I'm excited for the EQ Landmark and cant wait to see what people come up with using the tools. EQN Round Table Response #4 - Ratonga in EverQuest Next While I never did play a Ratonga in EQ2 I think they should be included because there now a part of the lore of the game so long as its not sacrificing any other kind of race to add them. I wouldn't want to give up Gnomes or the like for Ratonga. Edited by majinpowers, Oct 3 2013, 04:04 AM.

September 2013 Producer's Letter EQN Round Table Response #5 - Class/Race Combos Normally i'm a fan of having race / class specific combos because it just don't make sense to have something like a ogre playing as a Mage. But the way EQN is set up were you will be unlocking lots of classes I think it would be best to have one class have access to everything so you can really customize your character into your own play style. Round Table Response #6 - Guns & Ninjas in EverQuest Next? I love the EverQuest franchise and can see how both could work in Norrath so long as its done right and has the lore to back it up. Dwarfs or Gnomes could easly come up with some crazy guns to fit the setting and lore. Ninjas also could be a easy fit so long as they do the same and have the lore to back up why there there. EQN Round Table Response #7 - Contested Content: Yea or Nay? Myself i'm a fan of contested content, EQ wouldn't be they same without fighting for rare spawns and setting up camps with your friends to farm for rare drops. I even love the old days when you could get trained by people and could see people running for a zone line with a horde of mobs chasing them. I don't know how contested content would really work in EQ next since the AI of the mobs makes them move around so you can't set up camps like in conventional MMO's. I also am a fan of instanced dungeons so I hope for a good mix of both... having instanced dungeons to run with friends and lots of contested content in the main world to hunt. October 2013 Producer's Letter EverQuest Next Landmark Developer Diary: Globe Trotting EQN Round Table Response #8 - Friends Lists For me the friends list isn't a big deal and I think SOE should be asking better questions than whether or not friends lists are character based or account based. EQN Round Table Response #9: What is your Favorite Small Race? Gnomes and Frogloks would be my favorites out of the small races of EQ. I personally believe that none of the original races of EverQuest should be left out of the game. I haven't heard them say anything about Erudites and if there playable or not. Erudite's play a huge role in the lore of Qeynos and I don't know how they will be able to not include them without changing too much of the history around. |
