I won't pick a favorite, xiv is too fresh to not bias that. But let me say this: I have not played a ff game I have disliked. I own them all and have played all but 7, 8 and 9 and from what I have seen in gameplay they won't disappoint. I think the side games so far are good too. Chocobos dungeon and the crystal chronicles are good. I will say the more I listen to the sound tracks I am falling in love with the music. Oh and I love ff13. Haters gonna hate but it's got a lot of things going for it IMO.

IX is a favorite of many and also an amazing game. VIII is well..play it and make your own opinion.

See ff xii was more of a political story, similar to tales of, than most ffs and it dealt with it in a mature way. Now I'm not saying its the best ff story but it's up there. I do however like my share of humor.
