Today I discovered this web series called Video Game High School. I had seen it floating around in my suggestions on YouTube for a while now, but I had no idea what I was getting into. I'm glad to say that after watching it, I am absolutely in love with it. So much so that this morning I marathoned the whole season thus far (9 episodes from Season 1 and 5 from Season 2 so far) and even showed them to my friend as well. This is quite possibly my favorite series on the Internet now. It's an amazingly riveting premise with some really cool characters to boot. It's all about a near future where gaming is the most popular competitive sport. The series is focused around Video Game High School, a school solely for the purpose of competitive gaming. The students get to join whichever genre they want to train in, from FPS to racing to rhythm gaming. The FPS scene is the main focus, where there are actually JV and varsity teams for it as a sport and the matches are portrayed in a virtual reality-esque way. This series was funded with hundreds of thousands of dollars through Kickstarter and as a result has some amazing production values that are definitely on par with television. It's great to see all of the characters interact and conflict in this environment gamers dream about. Here's the first episode if you want a little taste, but there is definitely even more to offer in the later episodes. I highly recommend it to you all!

If you have seen this or have watched it after I posted this, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the series or where it could go next!

I love this show so much! watched it so many times, it is very well made, if only it was real. If you have netflix they have it on there with all the episodes put into one movie, so it's very convenient

The Netflix movie version probably would have been great, but it was just as easy for me to watch it on YouTube and it was fast, so that's how I watched it. However, I really wish the DVD version wasn't only for Kickstarter contributors because now I have no way to get it as I just discovered it. I would have loved to have had a physical copy of the first OR second season.

I watched the first episode of this and hated it. The concept sounded interesting, but I dunno, it was clear to me that it was just a bunch of random YouTubers trying to cash in on the popularity of gaming. Throw in a few stupid stereotypes and lame jokes and voila...you've got a series. The only part I enjoyed was the fact that the Epic Meal Time guy was the principal of the high school...and that was about the extent I enjoyed it. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime, but really, I'd recommend spending your time watching better web series, like Red vs. Blue or RWBY...or anything RoosterTeeth does, really.

I watched it a while back ago on Netflix. I thought it was pretty cool. I didn't know what to expect going into it so I wasn't expecting much. I wasn't disappointed.

Huh, I really enjoyed it. I've been hooked on it ever since I started watching to be honest. I'm not saying it has a ton of obscure references for serious gamers or anything, but I just really enjoy how much work they've put into the concept to be honest. The characters are really likeable and even the scenes within the video games are done surprisingly well.

This.

also it got way too cheesy for me. I don't even bother with RvB or RBY or whatever rooster teeth puts out. However, I did watch the whole first season of it, even though it was cringe worthy at times.
