I am not a fan of animals in general, but I would have to say cats. I just don't like dogs. |

I've had both, and I love both. So I'm gonna take a different approach to this question, based on my own experience. Expenditures: Cats - Have to be spayed or neutered and vaccinatinated. Don't eat too much, plus food is pretty cheap. Dogs - Depends on the breed and if you want to breed it, however most big dogs (Like my old one) can drag up a sizable vet bill. Big dogs eat a lot, and the food is not cheap. From a financial standpoint, cats win. |

Cats, always cats. Dog's just annoy me after a while, the stupid look on thier face as they are ready to jump at my every word just seems really pathetic to me and it makes me sad. If i tell a cat to do something it will probably just go out of it's way to shove it's butt in my face.

Yeah but my dog would protect my family and home by any means necessary. She's also smart and more fun to play with. Wrestling > dragging a piece of string around. |

DOGS Cats are evil, no shit. they don't care about anybody but themselves, they will kill your baby at night in the crib, and the mischievous bastards. Dogs can be trained to guard the house, go hunting, and they don't shit in the house. dogs are actually pet you can play fetch with them, take them with to the beach or anywhere, and big dogs are good for kids. |

Depends on what you want from a pet though, i don't want an animal i constantly have to give attention to or have to take for walks in the park etc. I'd prefer an animal to have it's own mind and independence. Some of my best friends are people that wind me up and piss me off and i find the same quality in cats sometimes...get out of my warm seat and the cat will steal it, just iron my shirt and the cat will leave his hairs all over it, im trying to sleep and the cat will claw my feet. Sounds almost masochistic but i enjoy having something round the house that likes to bother me, rather than have something unquestionably follow my every command.  (Also never seen a cat kill anyone...yet) |

Dogs: man's best friend. Cats: man's awkward on-again-off-again roommate Still, I love cats. They're adorable, they are very consciously clean and keep to themselves; they only are lovey when they want to be, which might not be always when YOU want them to be, but eh, whatever, I can live with that. I've always had outdoor cats, so that also helps them burn off steam so they don't bug you when they're bored. |
