Project X Zone-I was hoping it would so much better than Namco X Capcom, but it really wasn't. 2. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns: I had read about this series for so long prior to the English release, and was eager to give it a chance. The game did not disappoint. One of the best wrestling games of all time. 1. Gran Theft Auto 4-I was immensely hyped to return to Liberty City in HD, but I found the game utterly disappointing. Nothing about it was as purely fun and exploratory as the PS2 games. It actually turned me off to the series and I have no interest in playing GTA 5. If it were ever announced for the West, Yakuza 5 would take number 1 on the list and I would buy it instantly, but I fear it will never be localized and I'll have to fight through it with a FAQ, which I am not terribly enthused about.

Mass Effect, Gears of War 2, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4, The Witcher 2, Kingdom Hearts, etc... Honestly this list could go on and on. Final Fantasy Versus XIII deserves a special mention, as I have waited an entire generation for it.

Cosmic Fantasy 2 on TG-16 DUO - I wanted this game so bad I took the EGM magazine to school with me everyday just so I could lust over the 2 page spread like it was a porn mag. Final Fantasy V - I more or less did the same thing with this game lusting over the small add in EGM after falling in love with FFIV but sadly the game didn't release here. After being crushed over FFV not coming I didn't get too hyped for FFVI because I didn't think we would get it. I loved the first DKC and the second one looked even better. Imo, it lived up to the hype and exceeded it. Sonic 3D Blast on the MD/Genesis Bought it day one. I was so hyped for this games as it was going to be the first Sonic game in 3D (although, in retrospect we all know that it wasn't in true 3D). I cannot explain in words the disappointment that I felt when I finally got home and played it for the first time. It made me lose a lot of faith in Sega. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time I loved A Link to the Past on the SNES and seeing how amazing Super Mario 64 was, I just could not wait for Ocarina of Time. I remember that it was supposed to be a launch title for the system but we had to wait two years until the game finally came out. What made the wait even worse was that Nintendo kept teasing us with screenshots of the beta version on commercial pamphlets that you got with your n64 games.

Battlefield 3 Shadow of the Colossus Dishonored Dragon Age: Origins Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Have yet to buy this) These are the ones I remember the most, but there has been so many over the years. Maybe the internet has something to do with it? Here are a few of the main offenders though... Fallout 3 It drove me to get a current gen console, there was no way i was going to miss out on another fallout game...especially one made by Bethesda. Sonic 3 Loved the first two as a kid and i spent the months leading up to it's release just drooling over the magazines, scanning the pictures and re-reading the articles. It did not disapoint! Monkey Island 2: LeChucks Revenge The first game blew me away at such a young age and the promise of a bigger, funnier adventure had me bouncing off the walls. I was buying any magazine with anything about the game haha. Silent Hill The demo i got with MGS blew my mind, it had me freaking out just trying to complete it. Me and my buddy had to keep passing the controller to each other just to get through it. After that i knew it was a day one purchase and was counting down the days waiting for it. Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil 1 is one of my favourite games and hearing that a new game was being made made me flip out. (As you can see i was a bit of an excitable child) It seemed to be taking forever and the rumours of them starting over didn't fill me with confidence, not until i finally got the 10min playable demo in Official Playstation Magazine. My and my previously mentioned buddy played that to death, everytime trying to get further than the last playthough. I don't thing it ever had an end, you could only get so far and then get stuck i think. :/

Yeah, The Wizard was one of the biggest pieces of the hype machine back then, I remember watching that movie just because I heard they were going to show off some SMB3.
