hi people!

im just curious...what kind of monthly budget do you impose on yourself for videogames?(i guess this question is more aimed at collectors than people who get games for the sole purpose of playing them)

i wanna see how i stack up cause lately ive been feeling like ive been spending waaay too much money(mainly on ps2 rare and rare-ish titles)

It varies, by how much money I have going in and out. To be honest, I just buy whatever Limited Edition JRPG that is coming out. If there are 5 in a month then so be it, but sometimes there are none. I would say I spend roughly $150 a month. Retro games are what kill my budget, but I haven't been buying many lately. I have a huge and ever growing backlog plus all the new consoles that are out/coming out. When I was going overboard it was closer to $300 a month. Even now, I could cut down a bit.

yeah,sounds about right...150-300 a month.

i only collect fighting games(2D,traditional fighters) so this gen all i had to get brand new was KoF12/13 ,Street fighter 4(vanilla,super,arcade and soon ultra)

but whats killing me is retro KoF....theres so many of em on so many different consoles..its a nightmare(especially the pal euro versions)

thank god i dont collect neo geo cartridges...cause that would really ruin me financially

You may want to change that title. I thought it said "Gaming Bidet".

I'd say about 30 a month. During the summer it's usually a lot less, but in early winter it's usually more.

I buy games i want to play, so it fluctuates.

Ohh geez, uhhh, about $400 a month sounds about right for this summer. I will slow down in the winter, with the exception of november in which I'll probably spend close to $1000.

I'd say recently about 20-40 a month sense it's been a while since I bought a new release. Recently I've been buying semi new releases from earlier this year off Gamefly for about $9-10 each. Everything else is spent at the thrift store I may find. I'm very thrifty.

After doing a bunch of math in my head calculating my earnings a month etc, I would say about 70 bucks on gaming alone. I spend about 400 a month on hobbies/leisure activities alone.

well nvm the complicated, shit happened today, so I'd say 2-60 bucks a month (60 only if a new star trek game is coming out)

depends... but usually about half my pay (or more) goes to games. hey, that's basically why i'm working anyway.

Since moving, my rent and living expenses have increased, so I don't have as much disposable income to spend on games as I used to. $30 to $60 a month, depending on what is coming out or what bargains I can find. I used to have about $200 to $250 in the pot for that, but those days are gone.

To be honest, I don't actually mind having less to spend on games. It forces me to be more selective in what I purchase and appreciate what I have even more. Given how much I work, there is no way I would have time to play all the games that I want to get now, so spreading them out and buying judiciously is a better way to go about it.
