Which Games/Game series do you feel that you do not like personally but everyone else seems to love?

For me it would be the...
1. Final Fantasy(series)
2. The Elder Scrolls(series)
3. Metal Gear Solid(series)
4. Fable (series)
5. Ratchet & Clank(series)

The Half Life series, I don't know why but I just don't like them, I forced myself into playing Half Life 2 on steam when I bought it on the summer sale but its just so boring. It was like pulling teeth, and since I can't leave a game half done, I had to beat it and man oh man I hated every minute of it lol.

How do you even live calling yourself an RPG fan? Hating on one some the most successful franchises within the genre; one which is unprecedented, the other which pushes the frontier for the stagnant jrpg genre? Sure, not everyone will like every FF, but the franchise is so diverse in scope that if you consider yourself an RPG fan, you'll be bound to find a bunch of games within that franchise you'll love.

Edit: I also find it ironic that you like Xenoblade, but hate FF and TES. That just seems completely backwards.

Ocarina of time (n64 version, I like the 3DS version) the camera is too ass.
Assassin's Creed II, the character sticks to too much shit
Mark of the Ninja, same problem as Asscreed II.

I think "hate" might be too strong, but here are some games that everyone holds in high esteem, but I simply cannot get into:

Red Dead Redemption
Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City
Metal Gear Solid 4
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (but I loved Skyrim)

Heavy Rain, bad game and abysmal storytelling.
Red Dead Redemption...but Undead Nightmare was pretty sweet.
Battlefield 3
New Super Mario Bros franchise. I just don't like these games, they feel soul less. Usually Mario games feel special and unique, but that entire series just feels bland.

I don't hate it but The Last of Us. It has gotten sooo many 9's and 10's but I didn't think it was anywhere near that good. I enjoyed the story, characters, and setting but the combat and movement just really annoyed me for some reason. Stopped after 5-6 hours or so.

Ds Games!

Halo, Bioshock, and other similar sci-fi genre type games. Just have a strong aversion to a lot of things sci-fi.

I am an rpg fan. However I feel like the Final Fantasy series is completely overrated. In my opinion I find the Dragon Quest series to be superior. Also the Elder Scrolls games bore me. They are so boring. Also I think the gameplay in the Elder scrolls series is clunky and not fun. I respect the Final Fantasy series and the Elder Scrolls series for what they are, however I just don't like. They are not the rpgs for me.

That's kind of strange.

Then again, I found Xenoblade Chronicles overrated, yet everyone loved that.

Yeah, that's my choice. 7/10 game that gets praised as being the Wii's best offering. If it was released on the PC, it wouldn't nearly get the praise or critical reception that it received on the Wii. The story was mediocre, the characters were bland, the character models were atrocious, and the Monados' capability of foreseeing the future got irritating after 10 hours in. Also, the controls aren't ideal, I'd much rather play it on mouse and keyboard. The only thing that the game had strongly going for it is the immersive/visually impressive world, which showcased what the Wii was capable of. Also the fact that the game wasn't nearly as broken as White Knight Chronicles was, though WKC2 fixed alot of the gripes I had with the first game.

I personally think that about a lot of games across all platforms, but especially on Nintendo consoles. :-/

I'm not going to say i hate these games generally but i do think that they are way too over-rated in most cases.

Eartbound

Finally got around to playing this a few weeks ago and i found it to be quite a dull little game. It has some charm to it but i feel that it wares off and turns into a very monotonous experience very quickly. I really don't get all the praise it recieves and i sure as hell don't get why it is in such high demand and reaches the prices it does on eBay.

Pokemon

I think it was a very cool concept when it came out but then very quickly got sucked dry. How they have managed to make so many more sequels that sell by the millions blows my mind, given that people complain about sequels released on a regular basis with very little change destroying the market. Next to Mario or EA's sports titles, pokemon is probably the worst offender of this.

Sonic Generations

Often praised as a return to form and possibly one of the better Sonic games. I admit it is probably better than any of the 3D sonic games, but that really isn't saying much at all. I had a lot of excitement for more focus on the 2D levels with old sonic but the game really let me down, think i got about 3hrs in before i just couldn't force myself to play it anymore. :(

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Probably the weakest in the series and yet everyone seems to love it. I personally thought it was a massive let down compared to Morrowind and i still struggle to enjoy it. It looked nice when released and sure, it was easier to get into but it felt like a much shallower experience overall. Not a terrible game by any means but i just don't like it very much and it always seems to get the most praise out of the whole series.

Any Zelda title after Link to the Past or Links Awakening

Ocarina of Time was pretty cool but has been so vigorously over-rated by Zelda mad fans, I think Nintendo hit thier peak with Link to the Past and it's handheld counterpart, Link's Awakening. I just find the other games to be very dull and tedious in comparison.

Resident Evil. I never liked the controls in the older games. It was hard to get the aiming down in them. Yes, RE4 changed that but I don't care at this point.
Gran Turismo. I prefer Arcade style racing games.
Call of Duty. Maybe if it wasn't milked every year, I would give it a chance.
Guitar Hero.(and everything like it) See CoD. Thank goodness they don't make it anymore.
Minecraft. What's the point? You build something and it just sits there.
Angry Birds. I don't hate it or anything, I just think it's overrated and don't know why it has the fame it's getting.
Heavy Rain. Look, I can shave in this game. Ooooh...[/sarcasm]

resident evil 4....it single handedlly killed an entire genre....granted 5 and 6 are much, much worse but 4 started that action oriented bullshit

the same goes for final fantasy 10...the beginning of the end

Interesting
Halo? Medal of Honor? not a big fps junkie. only liked CoD:BO II because of it's huge multiplayer popluation

Skyrim: Not that I hate it, just did not like it as much of the majority who plays rpgs. Beat the main story in under 20 hrs, all i had left were side quests with no relevant storyline... or i guess i just didn't go deep enough

Sports games like Madden, NBA live, MLB etc. i just don't enjoy them. back in the day I did enjoy the World Cup Series but now it's seems kinda boring
