PC gaming is very frustrating

Level 1 Posts: 40 Group: Members Member #6,497 Joined: Aug 22, 2013	so I bought street fighter 4 on sale and i install it and I click play as soon as I do that the game will not launch for me it just leads into a black screen and It doesn't work same thing for my dark souls game it doesn't work however I think this might be because it's a games for windows game and that service has been shut down is it because of that or is it just the game it self it wont run on my pc (which it really should since I have a fx 6300 with 8gb of ram and a gtx 760 the games should run) Im looking for help

I SUCK AT GAMES Posts: 3,048 Group: Members Member #1,200 Joined: Aug 29, 2009 Currently Playing Horizon: Zero Dawn	I don't think it's from Games for Windows being shut down since I'm still able to play Dawn of War II and get achievements for it. I don't like playing on PC for that reason either since that also happened to a few of my Steam games, so I usually just stick to Blizzard or Valve games when I do play on PC/Mac.

Posts: 3,481 Group: Admins Member #719 Joined: May 12, 2009 Currently Playing Bloodborne.	I'm a recent adopter of PC gaming and, save for the odd instance, it has been very smooth sailing for me. The first issue was with The Witcher, which for some reason my PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for (despite being miles ahead of the minimum posted on the Steam site), and Baldur's Gate, which wasn't compatible with my Intel graphics card and I had to tinker a bit with it. Outside of that, I've had zero issues and have found the Steam experience to be fantastic.

Nothing that a quick internet search couldn't fix. PC gaming is pretty easy, rarely do I have any issues. Question: Are you running Win 8? Sega Does What Nintendon't Posts: 3,285 Group: Moderator Member #792 Joined: May 25, 2009	Ever since Vista the first thing you should always try if your getting black screen without errors is disable Desktop Composition in the compatibility tab of the .exe.

With a console game it is simply pop in and play. Every time I have tried to PC game it took considerably longer to even get started compared to a console game. I would trade significant convenience over slightly improved graphics anyday. This is just me though.
