Do you think Final Fantasy 7 is overrated?

Let's not forget that FFVII was the first FF game to be released in Europe. Also, the only Squaresoft game that I recall that had been released in Europe up until that point was Secret of Mana. Needless to say, the hype for FFVII was massive as we had been drooling over import reviews in video game magazines of FFIV, FFVI, Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG for years, hoping for localizations (at least, I was :P ).

Having that said, my favorite FF game is V.
Brutal. I can't imagine not having the Squaresoft SNES games or Super Mario RPG growing up for that matter. I can definitely understand the hype if that was one of the first Final Fantasy game that was released. Pretty sure our feelings if it was the 1st one we've ever played are pretty similar in that regard lol
