Anyone else pumped? Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage was one of my favorite games for this generation and I've been addicted to Sengoku Basara for the last month. A dynasty warriors type game of Zelda sounds sweet. I hope there's some dark world levels or something along those lines. Beating tons of monsters up listening to the dark world music....damn lol

I have been trying really hard to not be excited about this game. To be fair I have never disliked the Dynasty Warrior games, but they have always been something that I would pick up on the cheap down the line maybe. However they keep putting out more info about this game and I keep on liking what I hear. I watch the Nintendo Direct yesterday and I think it is over, I am officially counting down the days super excited about this game. I know I was screwed when they showed the costume changes at the end and I realized I would pay money for them. I have never understood why people paid money for costume in Street Fighter and the like but now I do. I will pay more money than I would like to say out loud for them, I will hate myself well I do it but that is not going to stop me from doing it.

So they just said that if you register Hyrule Warriors before October 26(?) then you can get DLC for Gannondorf, how crazy is that, Nintendo and game DLC and that gannondorf is a playable character
Marmul Out!

5 Game Suicide List
1. Batman: Arkhem City (Xbox 360)
2. Tiny Tower (apple iOS)
3. Dance Central 2 (Xbox 360)
4. Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D (3DS)

I don't know what it is about this game... I haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game in probably 10 years... but for some reason I am interested in it. LOL just re-skin everything to LOZ and my ears perk up.

Anyone else pick this up??

I'm really enjoying it so far. This just feels like a love letter to Zelda fans and the creators are clearly fans of the series. There's just constant references everywhere, and the music is remixed Zelda songs (so far) which have been excellent! Just little things like finding treasure chests and having that discovery music play makes me happy lol.

Gameplay wise it's basically just Dynasty Warriors. Slaughtering tons of enemies...most of whom just stand there alongside your allies...most of whom also just stand there lol. I will say though as someone who played Dynasty Warriors 4, 5, and 7, Ninety Nine Nights, and Dynasty Warriors Gundam (which was garbage) this game has the best mechanics and smoothest combat experience out of all of them.

I think if you're a Zelda fan there's enough well done fan service here for you to like, but the combat does get a bit monotonous. I'm saying that as a Zelda fan who doesn't really like Dynasty Warriors. lol.

I got it yesterday, and I've been playing it today. I'm still new to the whole hack and slash genre, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I also learned the hard way not to mess with the chickens. I'm happy I pre-ordered it, and if it does well, hopefully it'll help encourage Nintendo do more crossovers.

Its a good title. Grab a few beers, play with a friend, and it's dumb fun.

However, there are some big negatives, at least in my mind.

- Playing 2 player, the minimap on the tablet is borderline unusable. Really strains ya eyes. The controls for the wiimote are dumb as well. Wagging for regular attack? Nothankyou.jpg - can't remap regular attack either. Which upsets me. I guess this is eliminated if you have a wii-u pro controller (can't use the Wii pro pad tho)

- Cia is one of the most offensively bad characters ever designed. Really doesn't have a place in The Zelda franchise. She's ridiculously proportioned and clothed, and god damn. What the fuck.

- Voice acting / narration. The narrator is fucking awful. The lack of voice acting wouldn't be an issue, if they had also refrained from the stupid gaspy, exhaling noises they always do in anime. But this is really a nitpick. Most of this is skippable.

But yeh. Underlining theme is - it's fun. And worth playing. I was personally left crushingly disappointed with Link Between Worlds, so I needed some good ol' Zelda funtime. This game delivered.

I was talking with RetroSnow/Snowcon3 (for those who remember his YT channel) yesterday about this game because he picked it up and wanted to tell me how awesome it was. We both love the DW series and he said it was a MUST buy game for WiiU owners.

He has great tastes in games and convinced me to buy it when I plunk down for a WiiU system. So I would say if you love Zelda and Hack-n-Slash games in general it's a no-brainer purchase.

I'm 7 hours in and think it's great. I'd only recommend it to either Warriors or Zelda fans, but it's great fan service!

Ha....I get what you mean from a game recommendation standpoint....But... It's more that I'm super familiar with Dynasty Warriors games and LOVE them...especially DW 3-6...so I know what they are and why I like them. I also love the Zelda Franchise so it's an easy purchase for me once I've seen video gameplay, reviews, and word of mouth praise from Bro's who have it and have played it.

So....while I may not be in the best position to make a solid recommendation from not having played Hyrule Warriors directly....I can have an Opinion about it.

I'd never buy ANY games if I didn't take reviews, game footage, and friends hands on experience with a game/s in question to form an opinion on if I want to make a purchase. Most people wouldn't either.

Either way I was just passing along what I had just heard the day before about this game from someone I know who is intimately familiar with DW style games like myself. I'm buying it for myself because I've formed the opinion that it's a worthy purchase.

My buddy bought the game and brought it over a couple nights ago. I'm a big fan of Sengoku Basara, Fight of the North Star, etc and wasn't impressed initially. The narrator in-between made me feel like I was watching a Lord of the Rings film lol

HOWEVER, once we got into the 2nd-3rd mission and I was able to try a different weapon I started enjoying it. I'm not sure what clicked honestly, maybe it's just been a bit since my last dynasty warriors style game or the fact that I'm used to a different Zelda experience but I definitely found it fun.

I'm still going to wait until I find it cheap as I can get pretty similar experiences from really cheap games at this point.

Did anyone get the Treasure Box Edition that they were only selling at the Nintendo Store in NYC? Looks like people are already asking $500+ for it on Ebay.

Man, I really want to play this but I'm prioritizing Xillia 2. I know what happens, when I try to juggle games. I don't finish them.

I completed the main quest, which is quite frankly, dire beyond measure.

The real appeal lies in the Adventure Mode. Adventure Mode is beast.

Really? I actually thought the main quest was a blast! I was like a mixture of Zelda, God of War, Fire Emblem, and...Kid Icarus, maybe? Loved it!

I just can't purchase any DW game at full 60 dollar price. Not even a Ninety-Nine Nights 3 on the Xbone would warrant that to me. And I like DW games a lot. I don't give two shits if this has Zelda dna all over the character models. Toss in the fact it is 30 frames per second and lags in coop really pisses me off. Seriously, Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper is terrible on the Wii U hardware... same engine... same problems.

Ignore him. Typical Nintendo Fan, overhyping a Nintendo Product. :P

Take it at face value. The game is dumb fun, but the main quest is offensively bad. The Adventure Mode is where it's at.

And I say Fire Emblem because of how the levels are set up. It's set up like a strategy game, like Fire Emblem, but you fight like in God of War rather than the turn based battles.

This game is first on my radar when I get a Wii U...alongside a handful of other games, of course, but I played the demo at GameStop and loved every second of it. Mindless? Sure. But it was still fun the entire time.

Wonderful 101, Deus Ex, Rayman Legends, New Super Mario Bros U, Zombi U and Nintendo Land are all games worth picking up if you purchase a Wii U. Dark Siders 2 and AC4 are also ok if you can find them for like 10 dollars. The must have title to get is Shovel Knight. Before all else, get that game.

So I have been slowly getting through this game. Usually when I sit down and play a game I tend to play for decent chucks of time this. However a story mission takes me about 30 min, and well I enjoy those 30 min I find that about all the fun I need from this game for one day. I have every intention of finishing this game but I have a feeling this is going to be a 3 mouth project for me. Well I don’t think the story mode is dire I also don’t think it is Fire Emblem. I think it is dynasty warriors with ALOT of Zelda fan service and I am OK with that.

Is anyone still playing this game? I cannot believe how much content is in this game it's just insane. They're still releasing free content updates too that have really improved the game since launch.

I also bought all of the DLC which is $20 dollars total and I got an entire campaign for Cia through the evil side, boss rush mode where you can play as Ganon, new characters, new weapons and costumes, and numerous adventure mode maps. I haven't even beaten the first adventure mode map and I've been whittling away at it for a good 6 hours lol.

Crazyness.
