Do you ever forget you own a movie and really want to watch it so you rent it? I just did this recently, I really wanted to watch the hobbit an unexpected journey so I went to the video store and rented it (and since my video store is dumb they keep movies in the new release section for years just so they can charge more for it even though the sequel has already come out) so I spent 3 bucks to get it for 2 days, and then even worse some bad stuff happened in my life so I wasn't home for 3 days, so I never got to watch it and I had a late fee. So I grabbed the video from my room to go return it, and what do I see on my shelf right as I am leaving my room, I see that I own the 3D blue ray/regular blue ray/dvd/ultraviolet digital version combo pack of it. and damn am I mad at my self about it. so has youse ever had an experience like this? share your stories here man |

I've accidentally double bought games before. Just recently I picked up Star Ocean the 2nd Story for the PS1 and saw I already had it :l I also double bought Samurai Warrior Chronicles for the 3DS & Donkey Kong Land 2 for the GB. Sometimes it's just hard to keep up with everything on the shelf. |

Bought a ds game twice once by accident, but to be fair I was in a rush and didn't look close, thinking it was the sequel. I managed to sell it so no big deal. |

I have a pretty good idea of what I own, especially game-wise. The only thing that might throw me off are cheap Blu-rays, since I tend to stack them up until I get to them, so the stack gets pretty big at times. If I'm not sure, I won't buy something, though. |

I keep pretty good track of what I own and what I don't. The only way I end up with duplicates is when I buy box sets that have a few movies I already have. |

I do this with music a lot. I own over 5,000 CDs, so I do sometimes buy something while forgetting that I already have it in my collection. This tends to happen with bands that have large dicographies, since the risk of buying a duplicate is quite high. I really should get around to documenting my collection, but it's such a massive undertaking that I don't have time for. For movies, it's happened on occasion. I sometimes buy a lot of movies at one time and it's a while before I get around to watching them, so I might forget that I already own something and buy it again. For games, I'm happy that it hasn't happened at all. Of all my collections, games are what I'm most on top of. This could also be due to the fact that I own fewer games than anything else
