I've been watching the game collection thread on top of this board as of recent and it's amazing what all you guys have got in your homes. However, how long will that last? I just had this thought: what will happen to your collection when you pass away? Now I don't mean that you are suddenly killed out in the street after a night of getting drunk and puking into some pimps ho and getting shanked in the middle of street. You know your collection is going straight to eBay by you so called "friends". I'm talking about when you are 98 years old and all that build up of nacho cheese doritos finally clog up your anus making you constipated and now have 2 days left to live. What will you do with your collection before you explode from all the build up of diarrhea? Me? I guess I'll give it to someone I trust, hoping they'll preserve it, but I know they wont. They'll sell it on eBay the minute my chocolate filled corpse hits the dirt. Oh woes is me that my collection is only worthy to me only and will only be appreciated as long as I live. |

I would try and do the same and give it to someone that would enjoy it and not try to sell it off for a quick buck. |

I'm not sure honestly. Possibly give it out to my friends provided they are still alive as well. The value of my collection doesn't excite me and most of my friends feel the same way about games so I'm pretty sure they'd be appreciated. I would not give it to that one friend that likes games but doesn't take care of them though Pretty sure some of the games would end up destroyed lol

Ideally, I'd like to pass my collections (gaming and otherwise) down to younger members of my family, be it my children (should I ever have any) or relatives. Someone who would appreciate it and cherish it, but let's be honest, future generations who are brought up on digital gaming might not care. They way I see it, the collections brought me joy while I was alive, so their purpose will be null and void once I'm gone. Whoever handles my estate would hopefully preserve the collection in some way, but I'm not too worried if they won't. |

I think a video game collection is an extremely personal thing, it can say a lot about you. I don't know how I feel about 'inheriting' someone else'c collection, because I would always know that it is as well. I would pass it on to someone and tell them to keep what they want and sell the rest, then do something with the money that they are going to have as much fun with as I have had with my collection. |

I don't even want to think about it. I guess it doesn't matter too much. It's not like I'll be able to complain about who gets it when I die, I'll just enjoy them now while I'm alive and hope for the best. |

I have no idea how much of it I will have then, who knows I could loose everything I have up to now tomorrow. If I still have a decent collection, the ideal thing would be to give it to someone who will keep it, appreciate what it is, play with everything and continue adding games to it. If not... I have no idea lol. |

I'd like to give it to my niece or my kids if I ever decide to have any in the future. I think my niece will turn into a gamer when she grows up since my bro in law works at EA and is a big gamer like me

I'd hand it down to someone in my family. Probably my nephew if he grows up to be as big a gamer as I am. But that's years away, and I'm only 24.

Pass it on to someone who will appreciate it. Obviously, if a major part of my assets is that gaming collection then I wouldn't mind if part of it was sold but for the most part I would want it passed down. I tend to think if I have kids one day that one of them would end up sharing my passion for games. |

First thing that comes to mind is that my nephew inherits it, that is if he wants to or sell it and give it to charity |
