So I'm on Disc 4 and plan on finishing the game up this week. It's been a fun journey with 30hrs+ and I'm sad to see it go.....but I stopped and thought about it. Are the side quests worth playing on for? I read a bit and saw that the Chocobo sidequest is very indepth and allows you to fight an optional boss that is hard as hell. Is it worth the time commitment on the chocobo sidequest to fight him? My current team as well is Zidane, Garnet, Amarant, & Vivi. I seem to get a good setup with Amarant's chakra ability to restore MP while everyone has auto-regen & auto-haste. I have Zidane with MP attack since I've felt most of his skills throughout the game are on the crappier side. I'm also still missing two summons for Garnet and with it being on Disc 4, I can't help but wonder if they are somewhere else in the game with sidequests or before I enter the final dungeon, I'll receive them sometime. |

I'd say no. While some are interesting enough, I wouldn't say they're particularly worthwhile. |

I'm going to say yes. I love Chocobo hot and cold and you find a lot of rare items, weapons, and cards that you can only find doing this side quest. You can also find a secret area known as Mognet Central and Chocobo's Paradise only accessible by Chocobo. Finding the Stellazio's is also a great quest to do and open's a lot about the story and characters. Some of Summon's you might be missing might be learnable by getting specific gems and item/weapons that you could find by playing Chocobo hot and cold or by weapon synthesis. Frog hunting to number 99 is also very fun and you can fight an optional boss here and get Quina's special weapon. That's just a few things but there is a ton of stuff to do before you beat the game. |
