Who picked up smash last night/today? What do you think now that you are touching your smashing video game with your own hands? Who's your favorite character so far?

The only thing I'm a bit annoyed about is Smash Run, Its like the City Trial of smash, but the stats don't do much. I've had a few times where the CPUs outstripped me by far in the stats department, but I still kicked the living shit out of them. Otherwise, I'm having a blast.

I typically like playing Marth in smash, but I've been playing Palutena a lot too. Just by looks, she looks like a character I wouldn't like playing, but she's actually fun.

Do you even smash, bro?

The allegiance the midi variety stands with is SSB Wii U, necessitated by the dire need for the Gamecube proper experience.

At Moe's today during lunch we had 2 3DS's playing it as we stopped by Best Buy first so they could pick up their pre-orders. I never was a fan of the series and I didn't see one thing to bring me in now either. Looked and played really easy despite the controls that I would classify as, "take it or leave it." I can see where the controls on the New 3DS will make it tolerable. I'll wait for the Wii U game if I can get some more friends who enjoy the series to actually buy the Wii U before I consider this a purchase. If the Wii U version can suck me into this series I'll consider it my first New 3DS game when that console launches.

The controls and button layout can be edited in the actual game to your liking.

Welp. Sold my copy of Smash 3DS. Which sucks, as I freaking love the game.

For me, it's just not feasible. I'd either destroy the analogue stick, or my right hand would cramp up into oblivion. It was THE most uncomfortable gaming experience I've ever had. (May not be for you, but it was for me, so shurrup)

That said, dat Wii-U version? All over it.

It's crazy awesome, and that's coming from someone who doesn't even have an XL yet. I think it's worth putting enough time into to get used to. I have already grown accustomed to the controls, I play almost as well as I used to.

Ds Games!

Haven't picked it up yet as I've been extremely busy, but I would prefer having the new 3ds xl first before I buy it. We'll see if I can hold out or not.

Aye. If anything, it's because I enjoyed the game so much, that I sold it so quickly.

The game itself is great.
The console it is on is also great.

The game on the console (for some) is a marriage made in hell, uncomfortable and quite frankly painful. Some of us old folks find 4 player battles awkward, and I just can't draw out enjoyment when my hands are cramping, and I'm fearing that I'm gunna rip the analogue pad off.

While I appreciate that there are peeps that can manage the unconventional screensize / control situation and it's a practically a non-issue - for many, many others - it's just not workable. So, I sold it to maintain as much cash as I can, to put towards the Wii-U version, which I'm sure I'll enjoy a lot, lot more.

I can agree with it being uncomfortable...hell when I was playing the demo I couldnt really do any smashes so I am just going to stick to the wii u version for the gamecube controls

Pretty much the reason why I got rid of MK7. Even if I could get over the multiplayer imbalancing... the circle pad in that game drove me absolutely insane.

I am not. Smash Bros holds very limited appeal to me on a handheld. I'm not much of a handheld gamer so I'm waiting until it's released on the Wii U.
