New Leaf was one of the first games I bought when I got my 3DS, i never owned a AC game before but I have borrowed a few from my friends and thought that it was a very relaxing and kind hearted game, I could never really get deep into the game before because I would eventually have to give it back to my friend, so New Leaf is a pretty new experience for me. The beginning is pretty nostalgic, you start off on a train and notice a creepy looking cat staring at you, you tell him with your eyes that you don't want him to sit with you but he can't take the hint. He says that his name is Rover (hee hee) and begins asking you questions and the answer you give to this questions determine what your character looks like when he gets off the train. So after you step off the train every animal in town meets at the train stop to greet you! After your done thinking your the most important person on earth, you realize that they have mistaken you for mayor and before you have time to explain to them that your just a psychopathic axe-wielding murder, they take you to town hall to start your registration process. Thats about as far as I'll go for the story of New Leaf because it's really not focused on. So now I'll focus on the gameplay and pure addictiveness of this game. Animal Crossing New Leaf is kinda a life simulator but I don't know who's life they're trying to simulate. You'll spend your days by fishing, looking for fossils, catching bugs, finding the Money Rock and going to the island. The Island is probably one of the best ways to make money in any Animal Crossing game ever. You can go to the docks and ask Cap'n to take you to the Island. The Island is a cesspool of exotic bugs and fish that will sell for a ridiculous amount of bells. There's also the Money Rock, which gives you bells for hitting it with your shovel everyday. But since you're the mayor you have mayoral duties to attend to like passing ordinances, building public work projects, making sure your bratty villagers are content, spending money at the shopping district to expand and open new shops, the list just goes on and on with things to do. But its not like everyday is the same and nothing new happens, because something new is happening literally every day in the world of New Leaf. You can experience all the holidays, which is one of the more cute things about this game, and speaking of cute, THIS GAME IS FREAKING ADORABLE. All of your villagers have unique, bustling personalities that you grow to love (or hate) and they always have something to say to you and give you little quest or random gifts. I gotta say I really love this game, it's such a happy and carefree game thats a far cry from all these violence in the world these days, it might not be for everyone, but I'm sure you can find something to adore in the world of New Leaf |

Pretty good review. Something to be mentioned is the fact that not playing the game also has an effect as it has in past AC games, so the game definitely is better for those who can play it a little bit every couple days, and is less suited towards someone that likes to start, complete, move on. I put tons of hours into this game catching every type of fish, it was very rewarding at the end. |
