I notice so many people saying they want a ps4 over an xbone, and besides the issue of microsofts console reliability, what are your other reasons? I haven't really seen [people mention] any XD

Genuinely want to know, it might be just me but I haven't seen any exclusives for the ps4 that have interested me, but plenty for the xbone, so I wanna know how you all see this

Two words really: Exclusive titles.

Sony>Microsoft any day of the week, for the most part (see my post in the Xbox One thread).

I can live without Halo and Gears, but not Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Uncharted, Yakuza, Tales of, Valkyria Chronicles, Last of Us, inFamous, Resistance, Journey...need I continue? :P

Ds Games!

I agree with the exclusives, and all just generally like Sony and the playstation better than microsoft and the xbox. I understand lots of people like the xbox controller, but I enjoy the playstation versions and have been used to them since the ps1. I'm not a big fan of microsoft to start with as well as their business practices, and never had any major problems with sony consoles in the past, so stuck with them. Now of course if the next microsoft console had all the games I wanted to play and the sony didn't, I'd have to consider making a change.

I do prefer the sony controller very much, and never have liked an xbox controller, but I do quite like the xbone controller.

most of those you mentioned are for ps3, I'm curious though which exactly for the ps4? Our of those theres only infamous, TLOU(and it's just a hd remake) and uncharted (that I know of) out.

Not disagreeing, I completely agree with you on all that, specially yakuza, that shits my jam [luigidance]

For me it's about the games as well as the long post I made about dependability in the other thread.

I think we are all talking about the future library of games also and not the present. XBone or WiiU probably have the better exclusives right now but Sony will eventually unleash their heavy hitters like Uncharted, InFamous, Mascot Plats, Killzone, Resistance, God of War, the next Heavy Rain/Last of Us/Beyond Two Souls experience, and lastly but not least the JRPG's.

That last one is something people aren't talking about or realizing but ALL of the exclusive JRPG's that have been releasing for the last 12 months have been PS3 exclusive with more coming. Those companies like NIS, Namco Bandai, and Tecmo Koei have not made the Gen leap yet. But they will at some point and when they do you can bet Sony will be their home.

Maybe when the XBone has a 5-6 year life cycle and it's exclusives have built up AND it's proven to not have a 360ish ridiculous failure rate I MAY consider one. It would have to have at least 20 total Hack-n-Slash and RPG's exclusives to be worth it however.

I meant collectively as a whole. In all honesty, I've never even played Resistance, but having a game where you run around and shoot aliens kind of negates the necessity of Halo/Gears. Sorry, I should have clarified.

Well, to be fair, the games that I listed came out over the entire course of the PS3's life cycle. How long as the PS4 been out? I mentioned those titles because the rights to those franchises, which I'm sure we'll see additional entires on the PS4, are exclusive to Sony.

I knew exactly what you meant and I just brought the same thing up a few seconds ago :) Like I say above I'm looking at a future prospective purchase and thinking about the inevitable titles to come. PS4 WILL have more of what I want. I have about 100 RPG's on PS2 and 5 on XBOX, 50+ RPGs on the PS3 and 12 on 360.

As a consumer who knows what he likes; Sony brings home the bacon. I like their hardware better and the exclusives.

I'm not anti MS 'Xbox'...I'm anti wasting money on hardware that breaks and anti paying hundreds of dollars on a console that only has a handful of genres and franchises that I like.

Sony and Microsoft really have been multiplatform machines for me during the 7th generation, which is why I personally don't have an interest in either the PS4 or Xbone right now, especially considering the wealth of titles I still have to get through on the other generations. It just doesn't make sense for me economically, either. If I were to pick one now, it would likely be the PS4, but I don't even have that much attachment to Sony's franchises, either. Just the sole fact that it does have some sort of more exclusives than Xbone makes it more worth it to me. Sony always comes off as a friendlier company than Microsoft in general, too, and I do like to reward company appearance and connection to public.

Currently I am just more than satisfied with the Wii U and all of my older consoles.

Oh okay if you haven't played it before. It's cool to like Resistance I just don't think quality wise it's close to Halo or Gears of War personally. It's basically trying to be Halo but doesn't do a good job. Resistance 3 was close though.

My PS4 is basically what my Xbox 360 was last gen. Primary console, 99% of third party titles will be bought on it due to being better versions, and my Xbone is mainly just for exclusives. I agree with the complaints about Xbox as whole's build quality in the other topic, and I didn't like those negative DRM things they tried to force on us last summer.

It was definitely a stupid purchase at launch for me though. The Xbone wasn't worth it until Forza Horizon 2 came out, and I would have been better off waiting until these $350 bundles came out lol.

^ this times a million! That and the fact that I have never been drawn to Microsoft ' s consoles...add also the fact that many of the "exclusives" for the xbone have come to pc, I just don't see any reason to want a bone since I have a gaming PC.

I'd like to think I'm pretty unbiased when it comes to the console war. I have connections with each publisher and love them all for different reasons. But if I have to choose one, it would be the PS4. Xbone has more exclusives (as of 2014), but third party games are factually better on PS4 (60 fps is always better, and higher resolution is always better. Deal with it.), so to have the best third party for a few less exclusives makes it the better choice imo.

For me, there is a good chance that Xbox exclusives will eventually come to PC. With Sony that is rarely the case. Plus I grew to love my PS3 over my 360 in the last couple years. Before that I was sold solely on 360 because it had and still does have a great chat and networking setup.

I'll eventually have both, but PS4 will probably come first. (Already have a Wii U)

I must be one of the few on this forum that prefer the xbox one despite my one having to be sent in to a service center due to no controller not being able to hold a sync. The games on the one are better at this moment in time for me , I haven't turned on my ps4 since the last of us remastered since i buy most of the multiplatforms on the one for a variety of reasons , has to be exclusive dlc for me to buy a multiplatform for a sony console.

Meh. Just buy both and avoid the debates. I could give you a laundry list of jank on both consoles.

I agree with you that I prefer xbone over ps4, even though I haven't ever played an xbone out of a gamestop, XD
I dreaded the home menu format of the ps4, and that clicky control pad in the middle was annoying, and to hit the start and select buttons was challenging without looking down at the controller bc of their size and location. I do love having the joysticks next to eachother though XD
Just my thoughts from like 6 hours playing sports friends & advanced warfare on ps4 with my friends the other day [luigidance]

I'm curious what do you prefer about the Xbone over the PS4?

I definitely plan on buying most multiplat's on PS4 due to a good chunk being a higher resolution than the Xbone versions, but I did go with Advanced Warfare on Xbox One due to Microsoft getting the DLC a month early. After buying Ghosts on PS4 with the season pass...getting the DLC earlier is definitely preferable to the higher resolution in that case :D
