I notice so many people saying they want a ps4 over an xbone, and besides the issue of microsofts console reliability, what are your other reasons? I haven't really seen [people mention] any XD Genuinely want to know, it might be just me but I haven't seen any exclusives for the ps4 that have interested me, but plenty for the xbone, so I wanna know how you all see this |

Yeah I don't get it either. Side by side I couldn't make the same decisions as him for sure. And I don't. And I would never buy a multi platform on the Xbox One unless I had friends begging me to play coop and they were unfortunate enough to be married with kids so that they couldn't justify having both year one. And even then I'd have two copies of the game. |

Like most people, the exclusives guide my decision. I recently bought the Xbox One since three exclusives appeal to me: Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse and the upcoming Fable Legends. For the PS4, InFamous: Second Son is the only one I am really interested in. The rest of the games I want a multi-platform titles. I will eventually own both consoles, since experience has taught me that every platform builds its library over time. People who say that they'll only stick to one console and never buy the other one are, in my opinion, missing out. Get both, have the best of both worlds. |

1) The better price (I realise it's nearly equal in some places now, but the starting difference put the PS4 ahead in people's minds) 2) Slightly more powerful 3) Better exclusives covering a wider range of genres (not yet, but based on playstation's history) 4) Can be combined with the Vita to create handheld awesomeness. 5) PS plus is pretty great. |

One of the reasons is due to the social aspect of it really , most of my work colleagues and friends game on the xbox one only , and a large portion of multi-platforms have some form of online element attached to it these days. Also the resolution for me is almost neglible for me in most cases as I don't hold as large as a attachment towards graphical output as I do in the case of TV series and movies , which is evident by the fact I don't dabble much in PC gaming except for the occasional MMO. I prefer the user interface and the controller of the One over the PS4 as well , it's just not as clunky for me in different respects. |

Fair enough, its the same reasoning people would still choose PS3 and PSN last gen when clearly the 360 was more centered (up until about mid 2010) towards gaming and online bro-op. I do, however, hold games on consoles to a higher measure for graphics since usually the Xbone makes FPS unplayable for me, typically the only ones I coop or play online for any large stints of time. I am a Sniper through and through and all the sub 1080p fps on the Xbone have trouble using long range scopes because the massive loss of detail. |

I will counter those points 1) In the US this is not the case especially this weekend. And lets be fair, Xbone only matters in the US for the majority of sales. 2) The PS4 is not 'slightly more powerful'. It is a hell of a lot more powerful. There are specs most people don't take into account like the ROPs and memory bandwidth. We haven't seen what is yet to come and the Xbox will eventually get left in the dust if the full specs of the PS4 come to light in multiplatform titles. 3) The Xbone has some great indy titles that are either exclusive, timed or xbone/pc only. Indies are going to be important. Don't count Xbox out yet in this department. Also D4, Crimson Dragon and Scalebound are exclusives. 4) This is a nice feature and I have a buddy who uses it a lot. But I haven't bothered with it like many others. It isn't a huge selling point and a lot of great vita titles aren't typical mass-appeal games to justify the vita purchase for this feature alone. 5) PS+ is awesome... but let me tell you. I own 2 physical Xbone titles yet I own about 8 full Digital titles thanks to games for live. And they are mine forever (till the live servers go offline) Edited by hooflung128, Nov 27 2014, 02:48 PM.
