Finally bit the bullet, and how sweet it was, and got a PS4 last Wednesday. I got Alien Isolation, and I like it especially since I love the older movies. Also got Wolfenstein: New Order, which I've barely played but it seems pretty badass so far.

Anyway, I've been waiting for the new Mortal Kombat, which I'll most likely get ASAP in April.

Have you guys played Resident Evil HD yet?

Some people have talked about a second crash or this being the last generation of traditional consoles, and it seems like there's some truth to that. I mean PS4 has been out for 1½ years and it's only got one worthwhile exclusive (2 when Persona 5 gets released)? And don't get me started on the Xbox One, it's like PS4 but with out the Japanese developers like Atlus and From Software on board, so in my book it's worthless. I seriously doubt if I'll ever get one, I already got a PS4 and a PC. And that's coming from a guy who's got all the major consoles released up to this point.

Compare how slowly this generation has started to how quickly the Gamecube and Xbox died when Wii and Xbox 360 were released.
I don't get it. Where is this mentality coming from? Consoles are about to die but PS4 is outpacing the PS2 in many markets in the same time frame. Consoles are about to die but GTA V made 800 million dollars in one day on 360 and PS3.

Quite frankly if anything the PS4 is doing better game selection wise than PS3 in the same time frame. What did PS3 have until Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 came out in 2009? Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, and Folklore? Xbox 360 had COD2, Gears of War, Crackdown, and Oblivion in the same time frame?

I mean it just seems like this is everyone's first time buying a system relatively early or something. Xbox 360 wasn't that great until late 2007 despite launching in late 2005. PS3 was a turd from late 2006-2009. I mean it's pretty much expected although I think we have better games available compared to what we had back then thanks to third party's releasing stuff like Battlefield, Witcher, and Dragon Age.

It is a shame the Wii U is selling bad since it has the best selection available between the three. Although I'm at the point where I've beaten or played the hell out of the exclusives I was interested in so I haven't turned it on in a month. Dat Hyrule Warriors had me entertained for months though!

That new batman game does look pretty badass. I played a bit of, I think it was Arkham City (I'd have to look), on PSNow. I didn't play it much but it seemed really good. I let my PSNow expire quite awhile ago, so I never got back to playing it. Depending on how much money I blow on fireworks, I should be able to pick up the new batman close to the release date. Possibly even pre-order it.

I was talking to my buddy at work the other day about the WiiU. Saying how it was the oddball (game-wise) of the 3, so it'd give me more games to choose from if I bought one---- compared to just owning the ps4. I've always loved Nintendo. The new Zelda looks like it's going to be amazing anyway.

All these "Coming in 2016!" or "Coming in 2017" release dates are killing me! Hell, Metal Gear is only about 3 months away and it seems like it's been dragged on forever. Anxiety, anxiety, anxiety. As much as I can't wait until September, I want to enjoy this summer, lol.

Is there a reason why they don't have Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night on the Playstation Store? I saw they put Double Dragon on it, but I can't say it's worth $8 to download. Maybe if it was like $3-4.

I'm just surprised there aren't more older games to choose from.

Consoles aren't going anywhere any time soon, but many games these days are multiplatform and we're moving towards more and more games being only released digitally. So the situation feels different compared to 16 and 32 bit eras.
I've read speculation of how "in the future" there wont be any consoles but rather all purporse machines that combine TV, console and some aspects of PCs to one single machine.

You're right about PS3's slow launch, PS3 has no games and all that. I was thinking more of Dreamcast, SNES, Saturn etc, how many good exclusives those had after 2 years of their launch (though Dreamcast is notorious for how quickly it was discontinued)

Are you telling me that I am going to have to store a 40 to 60-in TV in my closet everything 5 years just so I can go back and play my older games.

Meh i enjoyed heavenly sword  but can't disagree with ninjapenguins post , PS4 releases so far for me have outphased the PS3 line-up in the same timeframe.

Bloodborne alone for me is better than everything i played on the PS3 exclusive-wise except maybe the last of us but the PS4 re-mastered version outshines that as well.

Is Thief worth picking up on PS4? It's only $20 and I never played it before. I saw they have a bigass strategy guide for it at Wallyworld.

It pretty much defines an average game. I'd recommend it for $10 but not $20 personally.

The world is cool and atmospheric but the gameplay feels a little clunky, levels claustrophobic, and it has a lame story. It's not terrible, it's just mediocre. If you haven't played Dishonored yet you should pick that up instead since it's a much better game.

@EuropeanGamer, I love Heavenly Sword too! I paid $60 for it and don't regret it for a bit but I just mentioned it since it was one of the few available, but isn't necessarily a game you'll replay frequently and is over in 4 hours.
