I SUCK AT GAMES

So with the news coming out that The Order 1886 is only 5 hours long this debate seems to be re-igniting about what is acceptable relative to the cost of the game. Does the length of the game impact your purchasing decisions, and what do you deem to be acceptable from these $60 triple A titles?

For me I'm cool with a game being 5 hours long if it's a quality experience. I'd rather play Advanced Warfare's campaign which is 6 hours of exciting action over Destiny or FarCry 4's padded campaigns of 20 hours+ any day of the week.

I'm still pretty stoked for The Order 1886 :]

depends on what my life looks like at that moment, and right now i'd prefer either games i can just pick up and play whenever i can (3ds/ipad/iphone)or games that i can plan to play on a non-portable console(modern/retro/computer) non-stop-intensely over a weekend or over two weekends in a row, then take like 2 months off (about 8 weekends maybe)from that level of intense gaming. but to play a game that has no end in sight...i'll probably just not buy that game right now. unless i have irl friends completely (!) hooked on it, or if i've gotten my mind changed by watching the gameplay on youtube/twitch about a billion times, until i realize that i should probably buy the game. :P
i've already made the mistake a couple of times, buying a more expensive game, not played through the whole game, which really makes me cringe. i don't care how often or why friends buy their games, but i do have a hard time justifying to myself, buying another game when i haven't finished the previous one i bought. as i said before, youtube/twitch lets me "windowshop" for a long time before deciding if i should prioritize my money on buying a game that will take more time/money/effort. i'm happy there are people buying games and sharing via twitch in realtime without videoedits when the game is lagging/glitching/crashing. allows you to see a game how it actually is,the good and the bad, and sometimes i get convinced that it's still completely worth buying despite the glitches/lag.
