This sucks :[ I was worried about this game when Kojima got fired but I didn't think they'd straight up cancel as a result. If you liked PT you have until the 29th to download it because Konami will be removing it. ![]() http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/04/26/konami-removing-silent-hills-pt-from-playstation-store

Sadly this didn't surprise me. I think I am going to have to download PT it just to have it on my system. I kind of wish I don't have one of the earliest versions of the PS3, I feel like that things time has to be coming and once that hardware dies PT will be inaccessible to me. |

I downloaded PT right away and have to say it definitely had a disturbing atmosphere to it. It was the first time, I think since I was little, that I was apprehensive and cautious when proceeding through a game, strictly for the reasoning of not knowing what to expect next and feeling uneasy. It's sad to see it go, I hope Kojima continues to create games for us in one way or another. I wouldn't mind another MGS like game for the 3ds, as snake eater played better than I expected.

That is one of the scariest things about digital distribution. Once the network shuts down you can't ever download the content again. Once your system that has the content dies, you can never have it again. you are at the mercy of developers to put out the content again years later, and unless it was an immensely popular game, it's future doesn't look bright. I'm switching over to PC gaming for the most part, and I think one good reason for that is that services like Steam, which continue to exist and function as the hardware grows and matures. There is a lot less chance of Steam dying in my eyes, than, say Xbox Live's support for one system. We've already lost support for original Xbox. We lost it for DS and Wii online play also. The days of games lasting forever has died. |

I honesty think this whole thing fell apart because Kojima left. Having a chance to work with hi is one of the main reasons the people that signed on did so. So with him leaving it was only a matter of time before they left too. |

This is a huge disappointment for me, much like many people, I enjoyed what was shown with PT, and having Del Torro work alongside Kojima had my imagination running much like when I was kid on how awesome this game could have turned out. I'm still hoping maybe this game has a chance of being released, or the possibility that this is just another publicity stunt to garner attention, but for now, RIP. :/ |

A lot of rumors are coming out about the sheer state of the working environment at Konami and it's frankly embarrassing. If they want to take the short-sighted route and forgo any semblance of creativity by focusing solely on the mobile market and other non-gaming-related endeavors then so be it. They practically only release Metal Gear and Pro Evo anyway. What they should do, however, is take the Square-Enix route by auctioning off their IP catalogue to ambitious indie studios that can create faithful smaller-scale iterations of the franchises everyone knows and loves. A lot of these studios have the ability but need a break, and what better way to do so than create a new PSN-only 32-bit Suikoden or a Contra to an already-established and hungry fan base. Then you can build on that success. Edited by Unkle, Apr 30 2015, 01:28 AM.

Though I never got to play P.T. myself, it really is a shame that we probably won't be getting this full game because the playable teaser showed so much potential to innovate the horror game industry. P.T. was already so innovative by itself. |
