First look at the characters Yooka and Laylee, and the game itself is called Yooka-Laylee. I'm all over this game and it will be the first game I've ever supported on Kickstarter. The Kickstarter launches on May 1st and is coming to PC first and consoles later. Plus the team consists of former members of Rare which is always great news. <3 Rare.

Yeah, this is what they must have been talking about when they had their press conference (see Playtonic thread for a link to that) The fact that it appears to be a little too similar to Banjo-Kazooie in the fact of the partnership and what each one can do, may be playing it a little too safe. BUT this must be the game that they will build the rest of their future games off of. It coming to kickstarter is a little bit of a dick move by my standards (gaming studios with clout asking for the public to fund their project is a little shitty) but I guess its almost like pre ordering the game but the preorder money goes straight to the game rather than to the profit the game will make. |

This game looks promising so far! The art direction looks like Sonic, and slightly like Viva Pinata, and I like it so far with the geometrical landscapes lying in the background awaiting to be explored. I really like the character animations, it's doesn't suffer from the issue I had with the indie game A Hat in Time where the character animation is too rigid for a platformer. Here's hoping that they make and do release a great spiritual successor to B-K! |

Looks awesome. Not fully my style of game but I may still try it out eventually(provided it comes to be). Also I hate the term "spiritual successor". Don't know why... just hate it. |

Looks promising. It's funny how a lot of the newer, more renown platformers of recent years have been 2D despite being on newer gen systems. It's refreshing to see a new 3D platformer IP. |

It's weird how Rare was never a huge part of my life growing up or even now, excluding GoldenEye, yet I am overcome with joy from the sheer fact that this is happening. I respect what they did so much, and still have a bunch of their games I want to go back to and play. |

I've played many of their games growing up, and I feel like Banjo Tooie was a HappyConsoleGamer moment for me growing up. I have no idea whether it'll have the same magic for people playing it now though, it still has the style going for it I guess. If y'all haven't already, definitely give the B-K games a chance, especially you ZRPG since you enjoy platformers quite a bit. |

Banjo-Kazooie is one of my all time favorites games, not only because the game is great, but because of the people who developed it. Rare was a genuine team that put a lot of care into their games, and I'm looking forward to this project as well. I can't wait |

Definitely loving the art and soundtrack bits released so far. I never owned N64 copies of those games but they always looked uber fun. All my friends said nothing but rave things about it. I'm going for the boxed deluxe edition once my new debt card comes in the mail, no doubt about it. |

I'm sure I would, too. I've only played the beginning very briefly and of course I've seen a lot of gameplay over the years of a lot of Rare titles. Conker's Bad Fur Day is right up my alley, too, but mad expensive. |

I'm lucky I got Conker's Bad Fur Day when I did, granted I was like 8 then, but you know. If you ever see the Xbox one for a decent price you could try picking that up, it has the game on it except a few portions took out. I loved both Banjo's and DK64. IT's a combination of nostalgia and the collectibles I enjoy. DK had plenty. |

Man they shattered all of their goals by hundreds of thousands of dollars! I really hope the success of this Kickstarter proves to Microsoft there's still a fanbase for a Banjo Kazooie game/Rare's franchises. Just amazes me how little they utilize all the great properties they picked up when they bought Rare. I also don't get how they are the shooter company yet haven't put out a Perfect Dark game in 10 years to go alongside Halo and Gears. Damn, I can't believe the 360 is that old. lol. |

I honestly hope that instead of that, Playtonic Games goes on to be super successful instead. They are the heart and soul of the Rare that everyone loved back in the day, the Rare franchises are just names now. If Playtonic Games can keep doing games out of passion like this with success, I'm all for it. |

Actually I forgot the HD Remake which I think was in 2011 or something. In terms of a new Perfect Dark though that was Zero when the 360 launched :/ 9 and a half years ago. |

I forgot about that one, and holy shit though lol, doesn't feel like that long ago. The original turns 15 on the 22nd of May, thought they where a little more the 5 years apart. |

I have only briefly played Banjo-Kazooie, through emulation, and that was a couple years ago...I liked it, but the controller I was using didn't emulate the N64 control stick very well. However, Rare will always and forever have a special place in my heart for the Donkey Kong Country games and Donkey Kong 64, in addition to Perfect Dark and Goldeneye...but their platformers really made it for me. Donkey Kong 64 gets a lot of flak for being a "collect-a-thon," which it totally is, but in all honesty, who cares? The game is a blast to play and that music immediately brings me back to my childhood.Still, Banjo-Kazooie has lived on as one of those gems I still have yet to really play and enjoy (but will someday soon thanks to pestro's Secret Santa gift, though my brother currently has my N64), and I think I really have JonTron to thank for that. He really speaks so highly about those old N64 platformers which were so much a part of his childhood as well, and it's done nothing but continue to pique my curiosity about them while simultaneously leaving a warm feeling in my insides...even though I've never had much experience with Banjo at all! So yeah, basically, I'm really looking forward to this. And I will most definitely be donating to the Kickstarter. |

I don't know why it makes me so happy that it has already raised over $2,000,000 on Kickstarter and still has 42 days to go.

^ It makes me very happy too. It's great to see so many people still have fond memories of Rareware since they're my favorite developer and I grew up on their games. Plus hopefully this will be a great platformer given the credentials of the team. I think most platformers nowadays are kinda lame. The new Donkey Kong games seem to be the best currently imo, Mario is good too mostly. The rest, especially Rayman are pretty good but I end up putting down after a few worlds. |

Went with the $120 option. First project I've ever backed and I can't wait! :] So jealous of the people who are getting the N64 kart version. Since they achieved all of their goals allowing it to be released on consoles day one I hope they add an option to let me choose PS4, or PC because I'd rather have it on PS4.
